COPY TRADING = LOSING MONEY (in 90% of cases) I'm going to save you a few thousands right now. Copy trading doesn't work like everywhere else here. Not because you picked the wrong wallet. Because your approach is structurally broken. Here are the 10 reasons it loses, one by one: > You are never first By the time your bot sees the trade, the wallet already got the good price. > You are competing with a swarm Hundreds of other copy bots are following the exact same wallets you are. > You cannot verify alpha. You have no idea if the wallet is actually smart or just lucky. > Thin order books punish you Your copy order moves the price against yourself on entry. > You get sandwiched Bots see your follow order coming and front-run it. > Resolution risk You inherit a position you do not understand into an outcome you did not research. > Survivorship bias You only see the wallets that won. But the graveyard of copied losers is invisible. > Adverse selection The trades easiest to copy are the ones the smart money is happy to let you have. > Size mismatch Their position sizing reflects conviction and bankroll you cannot see or replicate. Put these together and the picture is brutal. The moment your bot detects a whale's trade and follows it, you have already been front-run, sandwiched and farmed. Down before you started. This only gets worse as markets get more efficient. We watched it happen in memecoins. One buy from a known wallet triggers a green candle, then dumps on everyone who followed. Add the seven YES prices and you pay about 75 cents total to own all of them. If the champion comes from that group, one of your positions pays a full dollar. You spent 75c, then collect 100c. And how often does the winner come from those 7? The market says about 75% of the time. This is the trade the leaderboard whales quietly run. They are not trying to call the exact winner out of 48 teams. That's a coin flip for amateurs. They buy the cluster the trophy almost always lives in at a combined discount and let the 41 longshots eliminate themselves. The honest part, because this matters. This is not locked free money. If a dark horse shocks the world, all 7 resolve to zero and the trade is gone. You are betting the favorites hold. History says they usually do. These names that reach finals decade after decade. My Bot's 15-Win Streak Broke. That Was The Good News. For a while my Polymarket bot couldn't lose. 15 wins in a row. The kind of run that makes you screenshot it and call it a 100% win rate. Then it lost. Then it lost again. Six losses across 43 trades. I was waiting for it. I said it out loud before it happened: the first loss isn't a bug, it's arithmetic that hadn't arrived yet. A streak that clean was never proof of anything. It was just variance being polite for a while. So now, sitting at 86% over 43 trades, I'm doing the opposite of celebrating. I'm not studying the 37 wins. I'm studying the 6 losses. Each one, down to the moment of entry. What did the bot see? Why did a signal that looked strong fall apart? The current lead: liquidity walls. Price runs toward a big resting order, hits it, and reverses. My hypothesis is that some of my losses are the bot walking straight into a wall it couldn't see. So now I'm digging into the orderbook to find out if that wall is visible before the reversal, not after. Everyone optimizes for predicting more. The whole edge is refusing the trades where the signal is weak or the situation is murky. 86% is not an edge yet. It's a number waiting for 100+ trades to tell the truth. Germany should have very few problems winning this group. Even though I have doubts about how far they can go in the knockout stage, the quality gap between them and the rest of the group is significant. The most interesting battle will be for second place. Ecuador quietly had one of the strongest qualification campaigns in South America and possesses a very solid defensive core led by Caicedo, Pacho, and Hincapié. They may not be exciting to watch, but they are extremely difficult to beat. Ivory Coast has talent, especially in attack, but their lack of experience and defensive questions make them hard to trust over three matches.
