A long time ago, I warned my fellow Iranian Americans on the left that if your ideology is stronger than your love for Iran, then shame on you. Today, as a Republican, I have to say the same thing about my own side. What President Trump has signed here is not strength; it is a staggering betrayal of the Iranian people and a lifeline to a criminal regime. It rewards the Islamic Republic while our people are being jailed, tortured, and executed, and it tells every dictator in the region that Washington will always find a way to look the other way. حمله نظامی، کشتن خامنه‌ای به عنوان ترسیم‌کننده خطوط اصلی رژیم و سپس محاصره دریایی و تهدید مداوم نظامی و در نهایت کوله‌باری پر از مشوق‌ها و جوایز! این اتفاقات پشت‌ سر هم ممکن است این شائبه را ایجادکند که آمریکا بر اساس یک نقشه حساب‌شده قصد داشته رژیم را با ضرب و زور و تشویق به مسیری نرمال بکشاند و «تغییر رژیم گفتن‌های مداوم ترامپ» نیز چنین شائبه‌ای را پررنگ‌تر می‌کند. اما هیچ نظم خاص و یا نقشه حساب‌شده‌ای در کار نیست و اینها حاصل کارکرد عوامل پراکنده‌ای هستند که مهمترین آنها شلختگی، بی‌برنامگی و ضعف دولت ترامپ و نیمه‌کاره رهاکردن امور از سوی شخص اوست. در مجموع بسیار هم بعید است که به توافق نهایی نزدیک‌شوند و در این نقطه نمی‌شود این موضوع را چیزی فراتر از تداوم دو ماهه آتش‌بس دانست. اما این وسط موضوع دیگری به شکل پررنگ خود را نشان داد. حساس‌شدن بیش از پیش کشورهای مسلمان منطقه به اسراییل و تلاش بی‌پرده آنان برای ماندگاری دشمن اسراییل. چرا مانند ۵ دهه گذشته امکانات یک کشور ثروتمند منطقه به خاطر حماقت و ایدئولوژی تباهِ حاکمان آن صرف اسراییل‌ستیزی نشود و ترک‌ها و عرب‌ها و پاکستانی‌ها در غیاب این رژیم، خودشان مجبور شوند لایه اول در مواجهه با اسراییل باشند؟! علاوه بر آن، حکومت پسا جمهوری اسلامی، غربگرا و نزدیک به اسراییل خواهدبود و میدان مشترک گازی و سیل توریست‌های ایرانی و مابقی مزایای برآمده از ایران فعلی را برای آنها نخواهدداشت. این که قطر با بخشی از پولهای غارت‌شده خودمان در میدان گازی مشترک، به صندوق مورد نظر ترامپ کمک کند، نه سخاوت است و نه بزرگی. معامله منطقی و سودآور است. #IranWar‌

Then, out of nowhere, Trump declared that regime change had somehow already happened, announced a ceasefire, and entered negotiations with the very same people who had massacred 40,000 Iranians, effectively recognizing them as the new regime. The truth is that by launching the war, telling Iranians to stay home, discouraging further protests, and then negotiating with the regime while you are going to give it a $300 billion lifeline, you helped the Islamic Republic survive instead of allowing the Iranian people to overthrow it themselves. Shame on you. Your hands are stained with the blood of the Iranian people. You are lying not only to Iranians and Israelis, but also to the American people. At the same time the U.S. had a naval blockade to try and choke the Iranian regime economically, Trump allowed Qatar to pay off Iran to the tune of billions of dollars to allow Qatari ships to pass. Qatar owns Trump and Vance. $100 Billion spent on the Iranian conflict. Another $25 Billion in "frozen" assets. And another $300 Billion for "reconstruction." While re-opening a Straight that was never closed before the war. Not to mention we lost 13 brave Americans. And the Iranian people lost over 40,000 revolutionaries, mostly young adults. This is "winning?" Trump could have been a generational foreign policy president but he decided to be Obama 2.0.

The difference between JD Vance and Marco Rubio becomes more obvious everyday. Vance doesn’t seem to understand geopolitics at all. Rubio deeply understands the intricate dynamics. Frankly, putting them side by side is pretty embarrassing for the Vice President.
