@rascal113646 @bobbyfijan People say this, but still can’t explain why apartments and cities are more expensive per square foot than larger homes

@EOutoa @OliDugmore Please stop? This "concept" was introduced to Bath and Oxford with all of the ropey "15 min city" eyewash. The description of "cells", ANPR cameras and rationing individuals' journeys between cells is an accurate summary of what they proposed and in Oxford, are implementing.

@ItsGiantsSzn Dart is 29/37 in the NFL in passing EPA among players with at least 250 snaps. His CPOE is -0.2, below players like Geno Smith, Jake Browning and Tua (Jalen’s is 3.2). He just isn’t very good

An eagles fan… trying to insult Dart… by saying “Am I supposed to be impressed by less than 200 YPG” Do they not realize who their QB is lol? Eagles fans crack me up

@BobCrauford @OliDugmore That is a completely different concept to what is being talked about here. You’re referring to something more akin to congestion pricing, whereas the 15 minute city concept (which what the original post is about) is about urban planning. No gaslighting here.

@EOutoa @OliDugmore This is not a question of "belief". The 15 min city plan for Bath and the actual 15 mc as planned in Oxford are built entirely around "cells" with ANPR-controlled gates, £200 fines and annual rationing of journeys between cells. Please stop the gaslighting?

Then why does the government base my tax on the increased value of my home (i.e., investment) rather than the cost to maintain those services? Every homeowner and renter uses those services fairly equally, but those with higher value homes pay more than those with low value homes and renters don’t pay at all.

We don’t tax unrealized gains. If your stock goes up but you don’t sell, that’s not taxable income. I get it. I agree with it. So why doesn’t that same logic apply to property taxes, especially homes? Why is it that if my house value goes up for whatever random fucking reason, I suddenly owe the government more money?

I love the anti 15 minute city stuff, it’s pure facebook boomer slop. They pay thousands a year to visit 15 minute cities on holiday, the best parts of the UK are 15 minute cities. Instead they want retail parks, with the same 6 superstores and to pop in a McDonalds drive through as they leave
Sharron Davies HoL MBE@sharrond62

Make it known you don’t want 15 minute cities. Or deal with the consequences of more car fines & an very smaller on camera life.

@jimthegiant No one is complaining about the convenience of a 15 minute city, rather the dystopian idea that you are going to be restricted in where you can and cannot freely travel. If you can't see why they are unhappy about that you are a totalitarian.

Why are Colorado and Utah so rich now? Their household incomes are just kind of bafflingly high lol. Also, MA's median household income being $120k is just kind of crazy lol.

Yeah, but your map doesn't account for the fact that existing homeowners get to keep the "character" of their neighborhoods by not building more housing.

@StealthQE4 @troyberlin If you are making minimum wage in NYC or Boston then you are not working a job that demands you live in a HCOL city. You are creating your own problems. Don't expect people in the rest of country who don't pay those prices to give a fuck.

Not a great comparison. West Village in the 70s was a great neighborhood very close to lots of jobs in finance and the arts and publishing, to name just two. Cities were just less desirable back then. You want ppl to move to like Youngstown, OH which offers very little outside of low home cost.

@PolicyEngineer That’s exactly right. The MTA needs to be abolished and replaced. A public transit system should serve the public first. The MTA puts themselves first.

@scdupree @BeatinTheBookie They’ve only been in the top flight for 56 years out of 142 years. It’s not a great comparison, but essentially it would be like being a very low D one or high D2 school for much of their history.
