@Timcast Maybe you hadn't noticed, but Trump doesn't care about the safe play, he cares about doing the right thing.

Canadian sovereignty is the most laughable concept. Canada has given up it's Sovereignty for the last several decades. The WEF, World Bank, IMF, UN, the"international rules based order" of global elites. Hell you even elected the ultimate global elitist- founding member of the WEF, two state banks, founder of the green extortion banking system. I saw a video of him the other day about how he used the WEF to convince countries to require airlines to use biofuel. Once the laws were in place he found a company- who could not be competitive with biofuels, but now could be if airlines were forced to buy it. So he put a billion investment in it from Brookfield. And he was so proud of himself, and giggling about what he pulled off.

@SymoneDSanders Nothing casual about it. And there ARE established laws that Trump 1A- and giving up that sort of classified info clearly is in that category. Depends on the circumstances as to whether he will.

Also Trump just casually threatened to jail a reporter if they didn’t give up their source. Not normal, not okay…very authoritarian.

Do we need to discuss what Europe did during the Kosovo conflict? Would you like to discuss this with the people of Novi Sad? "for missions that target ... bridges, power plants, or other civilian infrastructure, citing concerns that such strikes could harm civilians and constitute war crimes..."
OSINTdefender@sentdefender

The United Kingdom will refuse to allow the United States to use its airbases, particularly RAF Fairford and Diego Garcia which long-range strategic bombers with the U.S. Air Force have previously utilized on a case-by-case basis to carry out strikes on Iran, for missions that target Iranian bridges, power plants, or other civilian infrastructure, citing concerns that such strikes could harm civilians and constitute war crimes, senior officials tell The i Paper.

From tariffs through Greenland to the present fight, Euro elites have derived the message that the Trump administration is too erratic to deal with and that attempts at appeasement are pointless because you'll just get thwacked later over something else regardless.

@eugyppius1 We won't pull out of the bases but will tell you all to f-off- we built them, we pay for them and we will use them for what purpose we want. That includes the airspace above Europe.

100 %. I detect a sense of resignation in Europe that there’s no point in appeasing these cynical provocateurs anymore.Rubio and the top military know that pulling US bases out of Europe would be an epic act of self-harm.They won’t say it but the message is: Pull out or shut up
John O'Connell@jdpoc

With all the threats from USA of pulling out of NATO, and pulling out of their European bases, they don’t seem to realise there is a rising ground swell of opinion that they should just do exactly that. Time to call their bluff.

@HaroldWren22 @WelbornBeege That is what I have been saying- we built and pay for the bases. We also built and pay for the airspace over those countries and should tell them to pound sand. We will use the airspace. And kick the UK off off Diego Garcia- the Seabees built it, we pay for it.

I was talking to my father this evening & i said the same thing. He countered with what i think is a better idea. He said, “no, we dont completely leave. We built those bases, our men bled in wars for them. You leave a skeleton maintenance crew at every single European base, but you keep them. You redeploy every one not part of the care taker group & every asset out of Europe, but you dont give those bases to those ungrateful traitors to use. You just take away all the jobs there for Europeans, all the Americans who contribute to those countries economies, you take away all the military people & weapons that keep them safe.” And you know what? It makes perfect sense. Because if you dont do that, China moves into those bases.
0HOUR1@0hour1

I think after Iran, we need to close all bases, right guys. They can handle it.

I disagree. Forced joviality in an effort to smooth over what is an insane request by a subordinate general (who se peers have been fired) to a boss is not joking. It's a white wash. And I think he may already have revealed classified information. Or as his apologetics put it, unclassified information.

CBS’s Eleanor Watson et al. leaked the classified details on the Iran F-15E rescue — one pilot saved, one still missing — citing U.S. officials while the op was active. This endangered our troops. Federal statutes covering such leaks: Espionage Act of 1917 (18 U.S.C. §§ 793 & 794) — unauthorized disclosure of national defense information is a felony. Time to prosecute. #NationalSecurity

Trump never implied he would invade Greenland. When asked repeatedly by reporters, he said what every president says, that he takes nothing off of the table. That was spun and spun and spun by hysterics in the media and EU leadership to the point of ridiculousness. The pantie twisting was so moronic and incredible. On the other hand, it wasn't some "European countries opt to sit this one out". They are actively blocking, ridiculing, denouncing hindering us. While we are protecting YOU - where do you think many of those missiles were pointed, asshole? And YOU are the ones that are dependent on that oil and Russia. Pull your head out.

@ThomBrady5 When the US president implies he will invade territory controlled by a European state this is *not* antagonization? But it is when some European states opt to say "we will sit this one out" to a Middle Eastern war that has nothing to do with them? Is your account satirical?

🚨NYT: Reflecting how Iran sees its position in the negotiation process, its state media said the country had “demonstrated its upper hand in the war.” Iranian leaders are said to feel emboldened after shutting down most shipping in the Strait of Hormuz and successfully shooting down a US F-15E fighter jet—even though the US rescued both of the downed airmen.
Raylan Givens@JewishWarrior13

🚨NYT: Two senior Iranian officials said the counterproposal given to the US included: 📌 A guarantee that Iran would not be attacked again. 📌 An end to Israeli strikes against Hezbollah 📌 The lifting of all sanctions. 📌 Iran would also impose a fee of roughly $2 million per ship that it would split with Oman, which sits across the Strait of Hormuz

Yes, CJCS. Sorry, I'm on drugs apparently. And what about that do you think was a joke? You ever been in the room with your boss when he's about to put his foot in his mouth? There is no universe where he would joke about keeping something a secret. Trump wasn't as specific as he wanted to be. He thought about it and still said what he should not have. No, I am 100% not kidding you.

De-boosting links was a decision I’d like to see reversed. Twitter used to be a place where you could find interesting articles to read. I know they are trying to keep the traffic on site, but it’s hard to discuss the news without being able to link to primary sources, hard to be able to discuss an article you can’t link to and what should be a platform for writers makes it very difficult to promote your writing. It was good for Twitter when there was an article in The Atlantic everyone was talking about and then the writer was on Twitter discussing it with people. That is one aspect of old Twitter X should try to bring back.
James Surowiecki@JamesSurowiecki

De-boosting links made this site much less useful for both writers and readers. A big chunk of Twitter's value was that it was a one-stop shop where you would find links to a host of new and interesting pieces. These pieces were outside Twitter, but connecting readers to them made the site invaluable. Very different now.
