@WassonWatch John 14:6 “ “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” If you actually believe the bible you can’t be catholic.

Catechism of the Catholic Church 841 says, "The Church's relationship with the Muslims. 'The plan of salvation also includes those who acknowledge the Creator, in the first place amongst whom are the Muslims; these profess to hold the faith of Abraham, and together with us they adore the one, merciful God, mankind's judge on the last day.'" The clear meaning here is, frankly, heretical. Essentially it is saying that Muslims worship the same God as Christians. This is, of course, false. The Islamic god is not like our God. He is not good. He is not just. He is not merciful. And he is not truly God. At best, he is simply the fake creation of man. At worst, he is a literal demon (if not Satan himself). There can never be "communion" between Christians and Muslims.

I’m reading Dominion, by Tom Holland, a much beloved book and their history of horrible heresies and violence, plus their attitude of suppression and enforcement of totally arbitrary (and often changing) rules, with no relationship to what Jesus actually said, is a big reason. It’s no coincidence that the scientific revolution happened almost instantly after the protestant reformation. Also catholicism doesn’t place much emphasis at all on building and examining reasons for actual belief, so it’s not a big surprise that so many catholics are ‘nominal’.

Top reasons not to be Roman Catholic: 1) Several points in their faith and practice explicitly contradict Holy Scripture (justification by faith alone, forbidding marriage, venerating and praying to saints, purgatory, requiring fasts, the priesthood’s perpetual offering of the sacrifice of Christ, etc.) 2) Their doctrine of the infallibility and supremacy of the bishop of Rome commits you to a faith and practice out of step with the Bible, and also commits you to a wild ride of doctrinal development, and you don’t know where it’s headed (C.S. Lewis’s reason). 3) Many points in their faith and practice contradict the early church fathers. 4) The last pope. 5) The corrupt college of cardinals, Vatican state, and the many gay priests you would have to submit to if you happen to be in their parishes. 6) The current pope. 7) You don’t get to be a part of the ongoing Reformation.

@AgainstAtheismX They have never been given all the reasons for belief, just told it’s blind faith. They don’t understand that it’s the most likely explanation. I’m going to give all the reasons to my young daughter, so she is informed.

Do keep in mind, guys, that if the Pope - or any senior Church leader - were to forcefully condemn Islam or even a Muslim action it would mean scores of Christians being murdered in retaliation. This does play a role in how things are presented.

Start by learning what the truth is first. You need to read “return of the God hypothesis “ by Meyer. Then join an evangelical church and make a sincere testimony in a baptism. But first comes true belief. That’s actually important to us and Jesus, although catholics don’t really care

Wow, y'all definitely turned me away from the Catholic Church real quick 😂 The orthodox bros were just as bad. I'm just looking to be in a denomination that isn't insane, but I don't know if that's really a thing. Many protestant churches are just as nuts. I suppose when the whole culture turns to garbage, the churches aren't spared either. Welp, I'm still a Christian, but I find little in common with most others anymore.

Pope Leo XIV@Pontifex

Communion between Christians and Muslims takes shape under the mantle of Our Lady of Africa. Here, in #Algeria, the maternal love of Lalla Meryem gathers everyone as children, within our rich diversity, in our shared aspiration for dignity, love, justice, and peace. In a world where division and wars sow pain and death, living in unity and peace is a compelling sign. #ApostolicJourney

Frozen was not just a bad movie, it’s actively a bad story for children. It perverts and twists romantic love by leading children to believe sisterly love can replace it (true love’s kiss is Elsa kissing her sister rather than a Prince kissing the Princess). It perverts and twists the Snow Queen fairy tale in which a sister rescues a brother FROM the evil snow queen in order to begin the era of “the villain isn’t evil she’s just misunderstood”. It mocks the love at first sight romance of all fairy tales (that end in marriage) in order to justify the five year long situationships that the modern west thinks is healthy somehow. It exonerates a character for being completely selfish and petulant. Just a ridiculous, stupid movie I won’t show my kids.

For a few hours, everyone was attacking Trump, but the Pope can’t help himself but post some more woke nonsense. It’s great for all the RW bros lately who are getting into religion. It helps encourage them to become evangelicals. Even if it seems it’s not cool, at least it’s true.

The mainline Protestants have faded into near-irrelevance, and Evangelicalism is too unintellectual and has overly politicized itself through its full alignment with right-wing politics, leaving the Catholic Church as the only viable choice of faith for most Americans. America will likely become a Catholic-majority country in the 21st century, and that will be one of the principal and most consequential legacies of the first American pope.

Pretty much settles the issue of whether the President is a believer or not by him seeing that picture and thinking it was him as a Red Cross worker.
