The MLA’s statement is wrong. And frankly, not surprising. First, it exposes their priorities. At a time when real issues of the state demand attention, raising something like this in the Assembly is itself telling. And if the Speaker chooses to act on it, it diminishes the dignity of the Vidhan Soudha itself. Now, let’s ask the basic question. Why should the KSCA, or any sports body, give free tickets to MLAs? Why should they “owe” them anything? This is plain entitlement. Feudal thinking. An MLA demanding free tickets, a separate gallery, and refusing to sit with the public reveals their belief that they are somehow above the very people they represent. That is the problem. If citizens have to buy tickets, so should MLAs. Simple. Unless we call this out clearly, we will keep normalising a culture of entitlement. And that is the opposite of what a modern, equal, democratic society should stand for. This is wrong. It must be opposed.

“We are VIPs, We Cannot Stand in Queues: KSCA Should Give 5 Tickets to Each MLA and Minister of Karnataka,” says Congress MLA Vijayananda Kashappanavar Bengaluru Congress MLA Vijayananda Kashappanavar has strongly criticized the Karnataka State Cricket Association (#KSCA) for denying tickets to legislators and ministers for the upcoming Indian Premier League (#IPL) matches starting March 28. Speaking to reporters, Kashappanavar said that despite availing government facilities such as security, KSCA has failed to show respect to elected representatives. “They are not issuing tickets to MLAs, ministers, or their families. Instead, they are asking people to book online. We all know how online booking works,it leads to black marketing. Tickets worth ₹5,000 are being sold for ₹35,000,” he alleged. The MLA demanded that at least five tickets be allotted to each legislator along with separate seating arrangements. “We are VIPs; we cannot stand in queues. Last time, we were made to sit in the general gallery with the public. This should not happen again,” he said, adding that the issue has been raised in the Assembly and taken up with the Speaker. Kashappanavar further revealed that the Deputy Chief Minister has assured legislators of resolving the matter by arranging tickets and ensuring proper seating. On the Home Minister’s meeting with KSCA, Kashappanavar dismissed claims of effective guidelines being issued. “There are no proper guidelines. KSCA has become too powerful because IPL matches are happening. They are collecting money and enjoying it. If this continues, we will fight against it,” he warned. @INCKarnataka @BJP4Karnataka @BCCI @IPL @RCBTweets

ये आपकी सोच है। गुवाहाटी के लोगों को भी हक है। ईडन गार्डेंस को बहुत मैच मिल गए। देश के अन्य हिस्सों को भी मैच मिलने चाहिए।

Hello @Dev_Fadnavis Sir, you may want to implement this in our state Maharashtra as well. @CMOMaharashtra @Pankajamunde @NaikSpeaks

In a quiet corner in @MudumalaiTR lies a local solution to the #LPG crisis & helping stem the foxing issue of #Lantana an aggressive invasive weed chocking forests (occupies over 40% #tiger reserves) across #India. So here is what @tnforestdeptis doing, with help of trained & employed local tribals: Systematically remove the #lantana → reduce them to chips → transport to factory →pulverise to fine, uniform powder →solar dry →dry lantana compressed, binded w/o binders using only press & heat→cooled, cured, packaged. And voila, you have lantana #briquettes that provide highly efficient cooking fuel in grt demand in surrounding #teaestaes & schools. Essentially invasive weed → cooking fuel replacing firewood & restored #forests. The #Muddumalai mgt cannot keep up with the demand. #Circulareconomy #TNForest #lpgसंकट #ecosystem

Pune River Revival
Pune River Revival@PuneRivers·
This is not a victory, but breathing space in an ongoing struggle. The assault on Pune's green heritage will continue — 689 trees today, more dockets quietly published tomorrow. It is not only Pune but everywhere. Just look at Mumbai's mangroves, Great Nicobar, the Aravallis, the Nagarhole-Bandipur tiger corridor, the Char Dham highway through the Himalayas. The list goes on and on.😢 Commercial interests are powerful. But they are not invincible — people, if they make themselves heard, are the only antidote. Make 5 minutes of noise on social media every day to save our natural assets. It will work. Do it peacefully, do not blame or curse anyone. Just spread the word. Do not get political. #SaveVetalTekdi #SavePuneTrees

689 trees.
Incomplete documentation.
Questionable legality. And yet the process moved forward until citizens intervened. This is how casually irreversible decisions get pushed through hoping no one looks closely.
This time, people did. Next time, will the system stop felling trees or just get better at hiding it?

Its been 12 years, your govt is at the centre and yet no action on this river which is in the national capital itself @byadavbjp. And your very same govt gives false promises of plantation of trees and other things. shameful.

A beautiful elephant family sleeps deep inside the Anamalai Tiger Reserve in Tamil Nadu, an extraordinary moment captured on camera. The young one gently rests its leg on an elder, seeking comfort, security and love. In the world of elephants, family is everything. And around them stands the forest silent, protective, eternal like a cradle holding life itself. On this International Day of Forests, this tender scene reminds us of a simple truth: if forests do not exist, nothing will remain. Nothing at all. Without forests, the world would be poorer, harsher, emptier. For elephants, for wildlife, for rivers, for people forests are life Incredible capture @dhanu_paran #InternationalDayofForest #forestday #InternationalDayofForest
