Dear Senator Cornyn, I approached you respectfully at the airport, extending my hand & introducing myself. We were at the ticket gate with literally dozens of witnesses — passengers inches away. Despite a quib reply back from you, I kept things professional & focused on the SAVE America Act. While I respect that you say you want to ensure wins this November, I speak for millions when I say that voters will be more likely to vote upon the passage of the SAVE America Act. Voters see what’s happening in California & wonder why our Senate isn’t doing everything in its power to secure our elections. Did you know that former Congresswoman Michelle Steel (R-CA) lost by 653 votes in 2024? Did you know that former Congressman John Duarte (R-CA) lost by 187 votes? I have no doubt that the SAVE America Act would have prevented these losses. Why are we normalizing an expectation for California to count votes for weeks after Election Day — like Spencer Pratt’s election. In North Carolina, the State Board of Elections found 34,000 dead voters on the voter rolls — fact-check me. (CC: Senator Tillis) How can Americans have confidence in our elections & how are Americans going to be inspired to vote if you don’t legislate as the majority? Last — & I mean this with the utmost of respect — for the $150 million that was spent on the Texas Senate primary/runoff, we could have built massive voter registration/get out the vote operations in every single swing state. While I understand it might be difficult to contemplate an American citizen doing this work because it’s the right thing to do, I’m proud to say that I don’t take PAC $ — not even from my own organization. I can’t be bought, which frustrates the political establishment. My one singular mission is doing right by the American people and delivering legislative wins that the popular vote delivered in 2024. I’m on the way to the Texas GOP Convention to help ensure all of our Republican candidates win this November — I hope you’ll do the same. I hope you’ll do the right thing & encourage your colleagues to pass the SAVE America Act — let’s win big.

@JohnCornyn Thank you John, I strongly disagree with most of your political views, but I respect you because I believe you are a decent person who has Texans' best interests at heart, unlike the grifting MAGA shitbags.

@jeffersonation1 Republicans spend MORE than Democrats, start pointless wars, trample on civil liberties, protect criminals, expand the state surveillance apparatus, and demand unwaverving allegeable to their buffoon of a leader. Democrats are easily the lesser of two evils right now.

Impeachment is not enough The next administration must seize all Trump family assets. They have stolen too much, broke too many laws, and subverted our constitutional order Republicans writ large must be embarrassed at the midterms, but the Trump crime family must be destroyed

@blake41 @MartinShkreli @tunguz It's not prospective, but it needs to be investigated further in humans. There is pretty strong evidence that retatrutide suprreses tumor growth in animal models of various cancers, including those not typically associated with obesity, through multiple mechanisms.

"A recent preclinical study by Marathe et al. evaluated pancreatic cancer endpoints in a mouse model of obesity (57). Adult male mice were given a high-fat diet and assigned to receive semaglutide, retatrutide (GLP-1R/GIPR/GCGR triple agonist), dietary calorie restriction, or vehicle control before implantation of pancreatic cancer cells. Compared with control mice fed an ad libitum high-fat diet, those receiving retatrutide, semaglutide, or calorie restriction lost significant weight, with the greatest weight loss seen in retatrutide-treated mice. Retatrutide improved body composition by reducing mass of epididymal adipose — a visceral depot in mice — while semaglutide and calorie restriction had no effect on this measure. Each intervention improved glucose tolerance. The proportion of mice with palpable tumors was lower with retatrutide, but was not substantially impacted by semaglutide or calorie restriction. The growth rate and volume of established tumors were lower in each intervention group compared with the ad libitum control, with retatrutide treatment having the greatest antitumor effect. In another cohort, retatrutide was discontinued at the time of pancreatic cancer cell implantation. This withdrawal led to weight and adipose regain, a slight increase in fasting blood glucose, and loss of the inhibitory effect of retatrutide on tumor engraftment. However, the growth of the established tumors continued to be suppressed in retatrutide-withdrawn animals. This study suggests that the mechanisms that drive the initial outgrowth of tumors from a small number of cells may not be the same as those driving the rapid growth of established tumors. Within the tumors, retatrutide increased expression of genes associated with inflammation and antitumor immunity and decreased expression of genes associated with metabolism, changes that were reversed upon retatrutide withdrawal. The investigators performed a similar experiment in obese mice with lung adenocarcinoma (57), which is not considered an obesity-associated cancer. Again, retatrutide reduced tumor engraftment rate, delayed tumor onset, and suppressed tumor growth. Consistent with data from the pancreatic cancer model, retatrutide treatment induced systemic immune reprogramming by reducing circulating CD11b+ cells, macrophages, and monocytic myeloid-derived suppressor cells, and increasing PD-1 expression in CD8+ T cells. Effects of semaglutide or calorie restriction on the immune environment were not reported" pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC12…

@tunguz its a post-hoc observation. this kind of thing happens all the time, perhaps most famously with IL-1 mab Ilaris, where novartis chased a very similar signal and never saw it again

@tunguz Work in a psych hospital for a little bit and you will notice that many patients have metabolic syndrome. Of course, this is conflated by psych meds (especially antipsychotics) but many who were first time admits and untreated had metabolic syndrome.

"Can you believe that a generation ago, a majority of the workforce left home at the same time to go sit in a cubicle for 8 hours a day, only to leave for home at the same time, enduring horrible traffic and risking their lives in said horrible traffic each way, hoping not to be seriously injured by other drivers, who could be any combination of sleep-deprived, emotional, intoxicated or incompetent".

I'm not gonna lie, the @Meta layoffs are some of the most dystopian I've ever seen. They got told to work from home, they were sent the emails at 4AM in the morning. Those who weren't impacted have software on their computer that tracks their every move, preparing AI to take their job as well. They're literally training the AI that will eliminate their position as well. Meanwhile, Meta is raking in RECORD PROFITS. I am a massive, unapologetic AI enthusiast. Yet, this is NOT the future I had in mind. I wish for Meta to crash and burn. This is not the way. Literally nobody benefits from this.

@EricTopol This possibly explains why vaccines such as the Shingrix vaccine reduce the risk of AD. Not only can they prevent repeated or persistent viral infection of brain tissue, they can also increase immune system resiliency and potency.
