Trump doesn't understand Catholics. This is Trump’s blind spot: Trump’s financial and political successes are rooted in a personality cult surrounding the TRUMP brand. Even his preferred religious leaders are appointed solely because they are loyal to Trump first. Trump has failed to understand that Catholics have a greater allegiance to their Pope in Rome. Trump cannot compete with the Pope. Even when a Pope is mid-tier, Catholics will defend their Pope. Pope means “pop” or “dad” and while we may see flaws in our dad, he's still our dad. Historians will mark Trump’s attack on the Pope as one of the primary events that led to his downfall and the downfall of the Republican Party. The Midterms will be ugly. 2025-2026 was a triumphant year for Catholics with the first American Pope ever and a record-breaking increase in Easter conversions. Trump chose the absolute worst moment to throw darts at the Pope, publish profanity on Easter Sunday, and post himself as a “red cross doctor with glowing hands.” Trump cooked himself. He should have celebrated an American Pope and harnessed all the exuberant Catholic energy moving into 2026. But Trump shares the stage with no one. Instead, he attacked the one American who is more powerful and more popular than himself: the American Pope. Trump was blinded by his own (declining) aura.

The abuse of the children was bad enough. The cover up by so many Bishops and Cardinals and the Church itself is outrageous. You are correct, how does a person trust the current institution of these men. Don’t get me wrong, I know some of these men are excellent human beings, however some of them are corrupt.

You will discover that Christians and Muslims are a natural and powerful alliance. This is a good sura to start with. The last time I visited Amsterdam was in June 2023. I ordered an Uber to take me from my hotel to Dam Square. The driver was a Dutch-born man of Turkish origin. We started talking about the immigration crisis in Europe. And with complete confidence, he looked at me and said: “By Allah, we will take over Europe.” I asked him, “But you were born here. You’re Dutch. How can you talk like this?” He said: “What unites us is Islam. The world must submit to Islam. We don’t see borders.” I tried to talk to him rationally about Islam, its historical violence, its authoritarianism, why it doesn't coexist in any modern society, and I shared with him that I was a former Muslim. He got visibly angry. God knows I’m not exaggerating, he threatened me. He told me, flat-out, that I deserve to die and he would do it himself. This wasn’t in Syria, Iraq, or Iran. This was in Amsterdam. A liberal, Western European city. Supposedly free. Supposedly safe. This is the consequence of importing ideology without accountability, Islam wrapped in Western citizenship. They may hold European passports, but their allegiance isn’t to Europe, it’s to a global Islamic identity that rejects your freedoms, your values, and your existence if you dare question it.
