In Colorado alone taxpayers pay upwards to $200 million dollars a year to provide free healthcare to illegal immigrants. However, many families have to go without treatment because they're American citizens and they can't afford healthcare. If this woman wants to provide free healthcare to these people so bad she should do it for free and not cost the taxpayer money.

Has he demanded, with equal vociferousness, that Islamists stop killing Christians in Syria, parts of Africa, and elsewhere and for Muslims to peacefully live with Christians in Muslim-majority countries? Why is it always a demand of Christians but never of Muslims?

In Algeria, the pope urged “bridges between the Christian world and the Muslim world.” Maybe a good way to start is for Muslims to renounce the idea that Christians and other “infidels” should be killed.

I actually do believe that this is all political. The Church benefits financially on a very large scale when Democrats are in control. Immigration is near and dear to this Pope. It is quite interesting that the Pope had no comments when Trump stopped several wars, but is very vocal about more dialogue between the U.S. and Iran. Forgetting that the last 40 years has been nothing but diplomatic attempts with a country that continues to be the largest State supporter of terrorism activity trying to produce nuclear weapons. Woe to any man of the Church that causes even one sheep to leave the fold.

The fact that he keeps using Lebanon as a positive example of Muslims and Christians living together, when the Christian population there has been persecuted and reduced to just 30% of the country, is an issue. He seems to always grade Islam on a curve.

He should have clearly distinguished his own addition by taking credit for the 'woe' portion, since those specific references to military, economic, and political gain are not the words of Jesus. I do not believe a professor would award an A for misquoting Jesus in this manner. I am Catholic but I do not support this Pope idealogy. I wish the Cardinals should have elected an African Cardinal Robert Sarah of Guinea. He thinks Islam is not friendly and the complete opposite of Pope Leo XIV

Catholic here, I have read the Bible numerous times as has most Catholics. I find this statement from the Pope to be appalling. The Pope just added his belief to a Bible verse as if it were a quote from the Bible. I do not worship the fallible man that is the Pope. I worship God the father ,the Son and the Holy Spirit.

It is a modern rhetorical addition by the Pope.

@MarioNawfal Actually bartenders do have a duty to not over serve. A lifetime ago when I was a bartender I would cut people off, at times take their keys and I would find a ride home for them. Often that ride was bar staff in my community.

I sat there for 8 hours as a father who lost his daughter. Every Republican lawmaker took time to speak with me, they didn’t have to, but they did. Not a single Democrat even looked my direction. Not one. Leaders from Illinois, the state I’ve called home my entire life, ignored Katie. Ignored her story. Ignored her life. I believed they would show basic humanity. They didn’t. We never thought this would happen to our family. Like so many, we believed it was something that happens somewhere else, until it doesn’t. We upheld our end of the social contract. We followed the rules. We trusted our government would do the same. They didn’t, and now we have no recourse. This could happen to any family. @KwameRaoul It is disheartening to watch a once prosperous state devolve into something I don’t recognize. Even more discouraging is watching the same politicians get reelected, not because they’ve earned it, but because they outspend opponents, manipulate districts, and rely on low turnout, propped up by a media that too often acts as a willing participant, not a check on power. These politicians, and their handmaidens in the media, serve themselves, not taxpayers. They have no regard for the people they represent. It’s clear they don’t want citizens like me here, independent voices who won’t fall in line. We are not welcome. They would rather see us leave. I may soon oblige them. And that, in itself, is yet another indictment of leadership that continues to fail, and still gets rewarded. That reality is salt in a wound that never heals. But I will not be silent. I will speak for Katie. For the Katies. For every victim they ignore, erase, and abandon. Because Illinois leaders never will. To them, we do not exist.
