The Rosalind Franklin rover, planned for launch in 2028, will search for life on Mars. 🔴 Built by @AirbusSpace in Stevenage, it has UK instrument expertise from @AberUni, @UniofBradford, @MSSLSpaceLab, @uniofleicester, @e2vteledyne, @RAL_Space_STFC and Qioptiq Ltd.

Our Mars rover mission Rosalind Franklin is scheduled to be launched in 2028, with the support of @NASA. It will be the first ever to drill up to two metres below the Red Planet's surface, searching for signs of past or present life on Mars 🔴 go.nasa.gov/4vAIeX1

Exactly five years ago, NASA selected Starship as the Human Landing System for Artemis, but we are yet to see the glimpse of a flight unit. For reference, five years after selection by NASA, the first Lunar Module built by Grumman was set on top of its Saturn IB before Apollo 5.

@ApoStructura I've just imagined a rocket that is actually 5 times bigger than this that uses half the fuel and it's been to orbit the same amount of times

There will be 20 times more usable volume in a single starship HLS than there were in all 6 LEMs that landed on the moon during Apollo combined.

The Hermes is such a sexy spacecraft even if it's massively oversized for its job, but it just looks right. I also love that the Stockalike Station Parts mod for Kerbal Space Program adds its gravity centrifuge.

SpaceX is preparing to launch next-generation Starlink V3 satellites using Starship. These satellites can handle massive data, with up to 1 Tbps downlink and 160 Gbps uplink speeds. With Starship, many V3 satellites can be launched at once, helping build a faster global internet network.

@MegaTyrannus @NotPlaceholder_ @Kayentakatae No, check the etymology, Carnivore from Carni (“Carnival, Fair”) + Vore (“-eating, -devouring”), it means an animal who eats corndogs and deep fried butter, like horses.

Marie Curie’s handwritten notes remain dangerously radioactive—handling them is still unsafe even today, and will be for centuries to come.

@nofixedpoint_ @sciencegirl Honestly you can get a 1um filter that would filter out 99.9& of microplastics from amazon right now BUT if you read the article, the difference is that hers supposedly doesn't require replacement filter cloths.
