The BrahMos Supersonic Anti-ship Missile System, the most powerful weapon system of the @TeamAFP 🇵🇭, will be subjected to simulation firing during the maritime strike phase of this year's iteration of Balikatan. This is the first time the BrahMos will be used in Balikatan drills.

Thks @IN_INSShivaji. It was a real honour for me to be speaking at one of the oldest shore establishments of the Indian Navy & the cradle of Marine Engineering. The interaction with the participants of the Marine Engineering course was very engaging and highlighted the curiosity & interest of the officers. The unique composition of the audience which included men & women officers from the @indiannavy and @IndiaCoastGuard apart from 33 officers from friendly foreign nations was remarkable. In addition, the visits to the Marine Engineering History Musuem & the Jubilee Hall were very educative. It was good to see history and heritage maintained so well. That besides, the salubrious surroundings, the pristine air quality, a spic & span station which radiated an aura of quiet efficiency, trainees going about their activities briskly, were all a delight to witness and experience. It was also wonderful to see the legacy of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj being maintained so well in different ways. Wishing you the very best going ahead. As the #MESC officers graduate shortly with a M Tech degree and go for their first Staff appointments, may top quality Engg knowledge & awareness of our historical legacy be their companions throughout. @abhilashtomy @probirpaymate @iProbal @SandeepUnnithan @IndrashilRao @AshTheWiz @hemantkhatri07 @MeluhaMaritime @ajaykraina @theUdayB @shekharmital @dperi84 @MulaMutha @Aryan_warlord @ThingsNavy @MarathaNavy

Combat-ready divers forged in the hills! 🔥 The High Altitude Diving Training Camp successfully concluded at Mattupetty Reservoir, Munnar, on 28 March 2026. A total of 63 battle-ready trainees, including warriors from friendly foreign nations 🇲🇲 🇲🇺 🇸🇨, have emerged as masters of high-altitude air and pure oxygen diving under sub-atmospheric pressure. During the camp, skills were sharpened for offensive underwater operations and advanced mixed-gas procedures. The training culminated in a high-intensity Endurance Triathlon—consisting of a run, fin swim, and free swim—flagged off by Capt Mohammed Ikram, OiC Diving School. Proud of our new breed of underwater warriors! 💪 #SouthernNavalCommand #DivingSchool #BastionOfTheDeep

Philippine Navy ship detects Indian sub during Milan exercises in Bay of Bengal. I would be worried if they began detecting our subs near their home waters 😏 IYKYK abs-cbn.com/news/nation/20…

On 26 March 2009, the naval air station INS Parundu (@IN_Parundu) was commissioned. #ThisDayInIndianNavy Built in 1944 in Ramanathapuram, it later became the Ramnad Civil Aerodrome. The @indiannavy started operations in 1982 to monitor the Palk Strait, renaming it Rajali II (@IN_RAJALI) in 1997. Parundu has served as Forward Operating Base for Operations Flamingo, Pawan and Tasha. The crest has an eagle in flight over Blue and White sea waves against a light blue background.

Totally wrong observation. 2 Subs were sunk post WW2 - INS Kukri in 71 war and Gen Belgrano in Falklands . The submarines carried out attack and vanished from the area . That is Submarine warfare Geneva convention or not ? A war is on and hence an enemy is enemy for a submarine
IndiaToday@IndiaToday

"As far as the laws of war are concerned, the Geneva Conventions, they impose a clear obligation. Once a ship is sinking, the attacking party must, as far as circumstances, permit search for survivors. The U.S. submarine instead departed the area. The least the submarine could have done was to alert the Indian Navy so that the Indian Navy could mount rescue operation": @Chellaney, Strategic affairs expert "You know, apart from legal issues, there are serious, you know, strategic signaling to India that what is happening in our immediate periphery, USA doesn't quite take into account. From legal point of view, also, you referred to Article 18 of Second Geneva Convention, which has clearly been violated by US submarine": Ashok K Kantha, Former Envoy to China #IsraelIranConflict #USIranConflict #NewsToday #ITTVReels | @sardesairajdeep [Iran warship incident, iris dena, india regional security role, us india defence ties, israel iran conflict, us iran tensions, indian ocean security, brahma chellaney, ashok k kantha, geopolitical tensions]

US has enough assets to track the Iranian warship in Indian Ocean . They don’t need any cooperative access from India . Warships are never unarmed as they have to go in harms way . The narrative that ship was unarmed is totally false . Big blunder of sailing ship independently
Ryan Grim@ryangrim

Indian media reporting that the U.S. may have used its cooperative access to secure Indian communications to locate the Iranian ship, which was indeed observing “peace protocols,” which mean it was effectively defenseless theweek.in/news/middle-ea….

It also spotlights a moral dilemma non- belligerents face in war. Even if one would like to act out of ethical or humanitarian concerns, one cannot do so without compromising neutrality. The stark reality is that beyond sovereign territorial waters lies a war zone, where everything is fair game.

The sinking of an Iranian corvette in Sri Lanka’s EEZ - tragic as it is - highlights the issue of neutrality in wartime. The vessel had left Vizag well before hostilities began, but must have known it would be hunted by US submarines in the IOR. Its crew likely understood that regional states could not offer harbour without appearing to take sides - an act forbidden for neutrals in war.

The President also reviewed the Indian Naval Air Arm, marked by a fly-past, followed by a steam past by mobile column of warships & submarines. Waterfront demonstrations, including a Parade of sails, Search & Rescue ops and aerial manoeuvres by Hawk aircraft were another highlight.
