In Chicago for a few days with Hazel to see some sights. Had a great meal at a Japanese restaurant. They added a 2% surcharge to help offset rising costs tied to regulations and operating expenses. When I asked about it, they removed it. Honestly, I felt bad for them. These small business owners are taxed to death here. Between the taxes, regulations, and rising costs, I don’t know how people make it here.

FWIW -- I cover a lot of courts-martial and I can tell that guns are already on bases. Most violent crime trials have evidence that shows an unregistered firearm by some party found on base. Even seen where a soldier shot someone off base then took the gun on post to hide it.

Insecure? Projecting? I remember when people still wished well for our president despite not agreeing with everything. But, those were the days of men who were strong enough. In 2019, Dujuan McCoy, owner of Circle City Broadcasting, told @IBJnews he had no use for a network affiliation - "When I am not affiliated with a network, I control my product." What a strange change of heart to then buy WRTV for the ABC network affiliation and lay off most of the staff. Also, totally unsurprising that, at least in 2019, a private equity firm held a 20% stake in his stations!

During the first quarter of 2026, their proactive investigations and enforcement efforts have resulted in the following; - 61 illegal firearms seized - 7 machine gun conversion devices seized - over 50lbs of illegal drugs seized, including almost 5lbs of Fentanyl - nearly 60 arrests, including 6 with Federal charges The Indiana Crime Guns Task Force (ICGTF) is a partnership of law enforcement officers and analysts from several central Indiana law enforcement agencies that was started in 2021. In cooperation with state, local, and federal partners, the ICGTF collaborates to address violent crime through a comprehensive strategy, using innovative approaches to locate suspects and evidence related to violent crimes and illegal possession of firearms.

I just got an email back from @INDOT on the Safe Zone Program to catch speeders. From Aug. 5, 2024 – Mar. 3, 2026, $21,778,850.00 in fines have been issued, and $21,337,727.60 has been paid. Maybe @GovBraun doesn’t have to implement tolls on I-70 after all. Maybe we already have our source of funding.🧐 fox59.com/indiana-news/s…
