Two days ago the US banned Claude Fable 5. Yesterday China dropped GLM 5.2. Today GLM 5.2 is #1 on @bridgebench BS at 100.0, and #1 on Reasoning at 42.8, beating Fable 5. At 1/10th the cost and 300 tokens per second. You cannot export control your way out of an open source race. The ban didn't slow China down. Unban Fable 5.

Is the US government repeating the mistakes of the EU here? Progress cant be stopped, so when the chinese AI model that can match Fable arrive we will all start using that, instead of inferior available US models... This makes no sense, unless it truly is a marketing plot

I’m finding all my theories on kernel optimisation that GPT 5.5 used to belittle and patronise me as “physically impossible” Claude Fable is agreeing with me and implementing them leading to huge speed ups. Such a breath of fresh air.
