@harrapasabhyata @RotIdeologist You want to elevate every communist into a position of power from which they can spread the revolution and massacre reactionaries? Sounds great Vladimir

@BobWhencer @puppy_stomp @root0cosmo the gouverment restricts the amount of rent in can charge for the units (assumed since their 'low-cost') it's definitionally rent control. Rent control doesn't care if the units being restricted are private, non-profit or state owned.

@Dewott1 They can say he's 10, but he def. wasn't portrayed like it. The prior changes were smaller and made him look older, at least that's how it seems to me. (1st ash -> 2nd, 2nd -> 3/4th and 4th -> 5th) So Sun and Moon portraying him correctly like 10 again looks like a break imo

@MoltenSteelTube @Liam_introverti It's not that sun and moon are bad, its good, it's that the continuity seems weird due to the art style change. By XY they portrayed ash like a teenager, then in S&M he's 10 again Given before we saw him stay the same or grow, that probably turned ppl off so they never watched

@MAGAShrugged @MikeHudema Having no wind across the Baltic sea and north Atlantic is physically impossible due to atmosphere dynamics, not a single documented case. Worst case some portions wouldn't get wind

@DavidPeabo41657 @sebbi @radioactivered Blackmailed by who lol Nuclear was far more entrenched in energy than renewables, only reason they get adopted is cause their better in most scenarios

@sebbi @radioactivered The problem is that renewable arent the most efficient, we have just been blackmailed to beleive that they are better for the environment, birds across the world and whales on the eastern seaboard disagree with windmills, and apherently the landfills do too. They also freeze

Unlike nuclear which produces a small, highly contained waste stream that is tracked and stored safely for the long term, wind turbines create massive composite blades that currently have no widely adopted recycling solution. Most end up in landfills, taking up space for decades and while other parts like steel and copper can be recycled, the sheer volume of materials needed for turbines (especially for large wind farms) creates a significant environmental burden. Wind turbines can also pose a threat to wildlife like birds and bats that sometimes will collide with the spinning blades, leading to injury or death. Nuclear waste is challenging but concentrated and engineered to be isolated, whereas wind turbine disposal is diffuse, growing and largely unsolved. Also, smoke does NOT come from a cooling tower like that. Good morning, you’re already the radiophobe of the day, congrats.☢️

@MMerlos6 @chflorelius I'd urge you to do the same, most negative effects depend entirely on how rent control is implemented i.e controlling rent in built up areas will obviously not affect new construction Similar caveats exist for most other negative effects

@MMerlos6 @chflorelius Scarcity already exists, all your doing is making sure landlords extract as much profit as people can pay. You can (and should), build as much new housing as possible, but that won't change the mismatched demand for inner cities which are already built out.

@chflorelius If you want lower prices either raise supply or lower demand. It’s not complicated. Artificially lowering prices just creates scarcity.

@meteotek @Liskaarm_ TIL that Drilbur/Excadrill is actually a Rattata line. The actual Rattata would be Patrat/Watchog imo

@Liskaarm_ Well see the problem is in Unova you're either using ugly ass Pokemon like Seismitoad and Zebstrika or you're waiting until you're at the Elite Four before your baby Pokemon evolve into something actually cool.

@fredsoda Property tax is a tax you pay to the city hall to keep everything clean, secure and in good conditions, not a rental of the land, you own it for perpetuity. Anyway if you speak to any libertarian they would say that is a leftist policy 🤷🏻‍♂️

@actsmaniac @HeSBK HANK models only started becoming popular pretty recently, we can talk once policies start reflecting them instead of the previous generations. (And while much better, they can still fail at capturing the high share of wealth in the 1%)

@actsmaniac @HeSBK Actually looked at some of those and, ofc, none of the papers included economic models You can find plenty of studies on wealth distribution but, like I said, economic models themself generally arent accounting for it.
