@isabelleboemeke @Heather_mom4nuk Hope the universe doesn’t dish out the same levels of irony to this post as it did the original 🙏🏽

Sex is good but have you tried saving California’s only nuclear plant and sticking it to the boomer anti-nuclear environmentalists?

Mélanie Vogel@Melanie_Vogel_
Sex is good but have you tried having your country shutting down its last nuclear power plants in 30 mn?

@ChamberofFit Should I take every set to 12 reps, or just one of my sets, before moving up a weight? Or is it situation dependent?
English

Something average gym goers need to implement ASAP
Training in rep ranges
Where people go wrong is thinking “do 6-10 reps” means picking a weight and simply doing between 6-10 reps
Instead, pick a weight that is CHALLENGING for 6 reps
And then keep the weight THE SAME week by week until you can perform 10 reps with it
Once you can do 10, the next week you move up to a weight that’s challenging for 6 reps again
Then repeat the process until you can hit 10 with that higher weight
This is the double progression method that I’ve followed nearly my entire training career
I’d guess 5% or less of people in the gym do this
And I’d bet even less track their training diligently enough to effectively get the most out of it

Since the update two days ago, Claude's UI has become dysfunctional for coding.
It cannot see the content of pasted artifacts. For example, it asks you to provide the code for file X. You paste it, and it responds, "I see your message, but there's no code in it."
When it sees these pasted pieces, it can only see a fraction of them, because the UI cuts most of it and replaces it with "."
Now, neither Claude nor ChatGPT can be used for coding in the UI. The only choice you have is Gemini 2.5 Pro in the AI Studio, but I have a feeling that Gemini 3 will have this agentic shit too.
Prepare to pay big bucks for API tokens, folks. The honeymoon is soon to be over.

@BortnykChess Danya taught me almost everything I know about chess. From 400 to 1800. I’ll be rewatching his speedrun videos as I try to keep climbing. I’m so sad about it, I can’t imagine how you feel. Thank you both for inspiring and helping us noobs to improve.

@Serena_Partrick @Glinner Have you read ‘what’s our problem’ by @waitbutwhy , helps put things in perspective for people maybe.

We really are living in 2 different realities.
Is the man arrested for Charlie Kirk's murder a radicalised "progressive" in a family of Republicans, who was living with his trans identified boyfriend, & wrote antifascist slogans on his bullets?
Or was he a "groyper", angry Charlie Kirk was not far-right enough?
All the evidence I have seen points to the first, but people who believe themselves sane, intelligent, unswayed by propaganda, forcefully tell me the second is true.
How do we bring these worlds together?
Because we must.

@TaintlessRed Yeah. That’s how I read it. Tired of the drama and upset he had to ruin that relationship.

CLARITY: Igor not related to Marc Guehi's transfer to Liverpool.
My fears have been realised.
Anfield Sector@AnfieldSector
We are still awaiting clarity on if Crystal Palace will sanction Marc Guehi's departure with the signing of Igor from Brighton. Crucial moments in the saga...

@AnfieldEdition We scored the only goals Bournemouth, Newcastle and Arsenal have conceded

@RobGutmann It would be insane to sack another manager at the start of a season … so I expect they’ll do it
English

Into the realm of ‘three games to save his job’. They need to beat Burnley, and beat them well, to stop the United board using the international break as the ideal time to assess the manager market.

@mattladson He’ll be at right back and moving into the midfield I suspect. Will be interesting to see.

Too many still think of China as it was decades ago instead of the accelerating peer it has already become. China has immense second-mover advantage and they are not afraid to take on the big, bold projects that once defined America...they built a 16 GW dam in 4 years, rapidly ramping all forms of power to meet demand including nuclear (you don't even want to compare timelines or cost between USA and Chinese plants), a ~380 mile water tunnel under construction, the largest ultra-high-voltage grid moving power efficiently, 25,000+ miles of high-speed rail, a planned 100 PW laser, they achieved a record fusion plasma demo, a tested quantum-encrypted satellite network, they for all purposes own global shipbuilding to influence trade, AI on the cheap, operational Mach-30 wind tunnel, already fielded hypersonics and atmospheric waverider weapons, sixth-gen fighter prototypes on display, humanoid and armed robodogs manufactured at scale and a space program with imminent reusable tech, fresh lunar samples (including from the far side of the Moon) and a space telescope project with a FOV 300× Hubble’s and expected at a fraction of the cost. Not to mention, they have line of sight on a moon landing in far less time and lower cost than the 100B we have invested over the last 35 years.
This is the first true geopolitical competitor we have faced since the start of the Cold War--and we don’t want to lose.
Philip Pilkington@philippilk
From Dan Wang’s new book. Interesting thesis. Engineers do tend to think in terms of solving problems. Lawyers profit when there are unsolvable problems. 🇨🇳
