But despite that pride the public is very concerned about the state of nature, with six in 10 say the Government cares less about nature than they do. Even four in 10 of those who would currently vote Labour say the same posing a political challenge to the government.

How meningitis rash looks on Black skin 👇🏾 Take note because there is no mention of how it presents itself on Black people.

@MsRade92 these are some of the visuals i've managed to find that show how it presents - it can be much less obvious and easier to overlook. please be safe everyone <3

Distracted by the slaughter of children in Iran & Lebanon? Me too! But what better time could there be for govt to quietly relaunch its Digital ID plan? Missed it? Me too! But look who’s celebrating… The director of ‘govt innovation’ at the Tony Blair Institute! 1/

🦔 Researchers at Aikido Security found 151 malicious packages uploaded to GitHub between March 3 and March 9. The packages use Unicode characters that are invisible to humans but execute as code when run. Manual code reviews and static analysis tools see only whitespace or blank lines. The surrounding code looks legitimate, with realistic documentation tweaks, version bumps, and bug fixes. Researchers suspect the attackers are using LLMs to generate convincing packages at scale. Similar packages have been found on NPM and the VS Code marketplace. My Take Supply chain attacks on code repositories aren't new, but this technique is nasty. The malicious payload is encoded in Unicode characters that don't render in any editor, terminal, or review interface. You can stare at the code all day and see nothing. A small decoder extracts the hidden bytes at runtime and passes them to eval(). Unless you're specifically looking for invisible Unicode ranges, you won't catch it. The researchers think AI is writing these packages because 151 bespoke code changes across different projects in a week isn't something a human team could do manually. If that's right, we're watching AI-generated attacks hit AI-assisted development workflows. The vibe coders pulling packages without reading them are the target, and there are a lot of them. The best defense is still carefully inspecting dependencies before adding them, but that's exactly the step people skip when they're moving fast. I don't really know how any of this gets better. The attackers are scaling faster than the defenses. Hedgie🤗 arstechnica.com/security/2026/…

This is wild. 143 million people thought they were catching Pokémon. They were actually building one of the largest real-world visual datasets in AI history. Niantic just disclosed that photos and AR scans collected through Pokémon Go have produced a dataset of over 30 billion real-world images. The company is now using that data to power visual navigation AI for delivery robots. Players didn't just walk around with their phones. They scanned landmarks, storefronts, parks, and sidewalks from every angle, at every time of day, in lighting and weather conditions that staged photography would never capture. They documented the physical world at a scale no mapping company with a fleet of vehicles could have replicated on the same timeline or budget. Niantic collected this systematically, data point by data point, across eight years, while users thought the only thing at stake was catching a rare Charizard. The most valuable AI training datasets in the world aren't being assembled in data centers. They're being built by people who have no idea they're building them.

UN Environment Programme
Escalating violence across parts of the Middle East is claiming civilian causalities, displacing communities, destroying infrastructure, and driving widespread environmental damage.

UNEP echoes the @UN Secretary-General @antonioguterres’ call for an immediate cessation of hostilities. This is essential to end the destruction and allow the people – and the environment – of the region to begin a process of recovery.

Part of the reason our public services are failing because too many parts of them have quietly been handed over to people who see it as a free cash machine. It’s happening right now in plain sight. Most people don’t even realise.

Well colour us surprised… 🙃 South West Water has admitted 18 pollution offences across Devon and Cornwall after years of illegal sewage spills affecting rivers, beaches and protected wildlife habitats. The charges relate to incidents between 2015–2021 and come after the same company was fined £2.15m in 2023 for 13 similar offences. And here we are again. Still swimming in sewage while polluters continue to profit. 💩💩 📢The government must STOP pandering to polluters. 👇 ✍️ Please sign the petition with @surfersagainstsewage and tell Keir Starmer to end the #sewagescandal. Head to the link in their bio. 🔗 bbc.co.uk/news/articles/… #EndSewagePollution #RescueOurRivers

nobody talks about how genuinely wild music is at a fundamental level. an instrument disturbs air molecules. those molecules cross a room and reach your ear. your ear transforms that into electricity. that electricity shifts your consciousness. and without any coordination, without any shared culture or language, every single human society that has ever existed found their way to this. that is one of the most profound things about being human.

Well, they did. @UKLabour MPs placed unthinking tribalism ahead of evidence and principle. They fell for the untruths and misdirections, the cynical emotive rhetoric and the lazy, cowardly refusal of the government to debate on the facts. We deserve better politicians.
The Secret Barrister 🦋@BarristerSecret

Today @DavidLammy could enter the history books. He could usurp Chris Grayling as the most catastrophic Justice Secretary of the century, devastating trial by jury based on feels, with no evidence that this will fix the problems in criminal justice. Will Labour MPs enable him?

You see, lawyers are good at the law. But absolutely *nothing* about them makes them any better than you or the milkman or the PhD student next door or the retired scientist up the road or your hairdresser at deciding the facts. At deciding if they are sure something happened.

Everyone who works in healthcare needs to read this mum's live account of the ongoing plight of her young son's emergency NHS care - but most of all, @wesstreeting, you need to read it. This is the reality of NHS 'improvement' on your watch, and it is soul-destroying. I am so very sorry you and your son are enduring this, Victoria, & that all the staff around you are enduring the same.
Victoria Teasdale@Imperfecting_It

I’m live tweeting my son’s experience at Doncaster Royal infirmary because this is an all too common public health story that happens more than people admit. It’s hard hearing nurses from three different departments get mad because they’ve spent 5 hours bleeping one consultant

It's 2026, and as of yet, no country has achieved gender equality. At the current rate of progress, it could take hundreds of years for women and girls to have the same rights and protections as men. Sunday is International Women’s Day. via @UN_Women
