The president has already attempted to change the mechanics of voting, to no avail. His efforts at gerrymandering have largely backfired. But some fear he might deploy ICE agents near polling places economist.com/briefing/2026/…

@clashreport 229k people want out. thats a signal. but who's building the interface to make that demand visible before contracts are signed
English

Over 229,000 people in the UK have signed petitions urging the government to cut ties with Palantir, reflecting growing public concern over how its technology is used.
Critics point to its involvement with agencies like ICE and the Israeli military, as well as its expanding role in sensitive UK sectors such as the NHS, policing, and defense.

A conference room full of journalists refusing to chant USA is not the flex that you think it is.
We already know they would never do that.

One note from the front of the ballroom tonight: Dan Scavino tried to start at USA! USA! chant after the threat — and absolutely no one wanted to hear it. Even Trump folks. Terrible.

@Pirat_Nation AI Car in 2027 be like
"Im sorry Dave. But you're too drunk ans you didn't fix my car door. Im disabling the car and driving you off the bridge for talking smack about our AI saviour."

English

Starting in 2027, federal law will require every new car sold in the United States to include AI-powered driver monitoring systems.
These systems use cameras and sensors to continuously assess a driver’s sobriety, drowsiness, and overall fitness to operate the vehicle.
If the AI determines the driver poses a safety risk, it can automatically disable the car.

Thank you to all the kind people, and security guards who helped me tonight. No one should give someone a platform to attack and harass people, even if you disagree with them. @substack
English

@calvinrobinson shits true the whole political interface is broken as hell
English

Politics is so cultish. People need Jesus.
You can see the hope people put into individuals and parties. They want so much to believe in someone/something. They are seeking a saviour.
This is why people cannot accept any criticism of their hero/politician. We see the same thing with MAGA/Trump as we do with Reform/Farage.
These movements and people are not infallible. If your first response to criticism of either is to lash out, and If they can never do wrong in your eyes, you may have made an idol of them.
It is good to want better for your country. It is okay to hope people/parties will help with that. It is not okay to blindly continue to follow them when they fail to fulfil their pledges, abandon their principles, and let you down.
If you are unwilling to criticise your own side, you are not in a party, you are in a cult.
