Both Arminianists and Molinists say God knows what events would be needed for you to respond with faith and causes them to be. Even Thomists, the most in vogue Roman Catholic view, say only irresistible grace saves, which God only gives to His chosen. They allow for the existence of resistible grace only so that God does not become the one who damns. The Reformed don't have monopoly on this concept.

@ElifNull @DPGBehler Arminianism also believes that, as does Thomism and Molinism Prety much all extent creedal christian views also hold to the idea that God chose some sinners to save and other not to based only off His divine good pleasure. The only thing they disagree on is how He goes about it.

Calvinist's have ""humility"" via separating means of true knowing from human nature, thus allowing them to have great pride in it, since they see it as not their own. One can see how this can easily leads one astray from true wisdom. God requiring absolute command over all agency is, in fact and truth, the LESSER form of perfect eminence than being able to achieve the entirety of His will without it.

@DPGBehler Arminianism is just taking God seriously when He says, "Turn to me, and I will turn to you." Calvin doesn't really have an argument against passages like it beyond "You're a dummy for taking God at His word. What He really means is the opposite of what he says here."

First; "the truth that is required to be saved" does not include "all things that are true", only those truths that have been handed to us by the church fathers. You are allowed by God's mercy to be wrong about some things provided you don't make those things required of others. The sin state of Mary is part of this latter category. (This is the mistake of Rome.) Second; God didn't HAVE to be born in order to be incarnated. He could have just willed a body into being. But it was judged fitting by His good pleasure that He would be like us in all ways but our falleness. Just so, it was not required but fitting for His mother, who was one flesh with Him, to be in such a state as well. It was required that Jesus be born immaculate and fitting that it be miraculous. It was fitting that Mary either be born or made immaculate. Since it was not required of her, it is no problem that her mother was not too immaculate.
