If the best an atheist can come up with for an idea of god and heaven is a man in the sky and other childish depictions, it says more about their lack of depth and experience as a life form than it does inherently about the notions of god and heaven themselves. Life and death are objectively real concepts. Light and dark. Chaos and order. Creation and destruction. Good and evil. There is a ying and a yang to reality. That’s an observable fact. Light from the sun creates life, and a black hole destroys everything within its event horizon. Our notions of light and dark correlating with life and death are not accidental or made up. They reside deep within us, and there is much we don’t truly know. But if our bodies are instruments which can actually experience and feel the stimuli of the universe, then why wouldn’t something felt in the deepest parts of a person’s being be worthy of consideration? Just because humans are incapable of truly articulating the magnitude of these ideas effectively, and instead say stupid things like “Christ is king”, doesn’t mean there isn’t a much higher dimensional level of this existence that may have direct or indirect impact on events and evolution. The struggle between creation and destruction is objectively real at a fundamental existential level. It’s a cosmic war.

Rewatching the Harry Potter movies and, while I never liked Hermione, "Prisoner of Azkaban" turns her into an insufferable, overpowered Mary Sue. Punches Draco in the face. Threatens him physically with her wand. Slaps Harry’s hands. Bosses Harry and Ron around. Literally controls time with zero real consequences or mistakes. Saves Buckbeak—and the day—instead of Harry. Calls the werewolf away instead of Harry. Solves most of the mystery (Lupin, Sirius, Pettigrew) before Harry fully catches up. Attends multiple classessimultaneously like it’s nothing. Stands up to PROFESSOR Snape in class while everyone else fears him. Takes charge of the entire rescue plan at the end—Harry mostly follows her lead. Rescues Sirius Black from the tower, for which he affirms her as “the brightest witch of your age.” Oh—and she’s also the only one smart enough to figure out Lupin is a werewolf while everyone else is clueless. If they were depicting her this way 22 YEARS AGO, how do you expect the TV show to feel?

When I was 16 or 17, I still played video games. I got deeply immersed in the game Knights of the Old Republic. I played that game all day every day, doing every single thing that it was possible to do. I even gave Bastila a jolly good rogering in the end. I was totally IN that game. When I finally beat the game, I felt like absolute shit. There was no sense of accomplishment. None of the reward systems of my brain were activated. I felt empty and deflated. What had I even been doing with myself? My own person had not been benefitted in any way. I’ll always remember that feeling because I thought I liked that game. I hadn’t thought about the possibility that it was existentially meaningless, maybe even harmful. Spirit-crushing. This was the start of realizing clearly that the only true way of finding a sense of reward and achievement in life is to do real things, in the real world, with your real body. A video game is an escape. Maybe it can work as a bit of short term fun that you don’t take seriously. But unless you’re some nerdy chick with nice tits who simps want to watch play video games, there is nothing to gain from it. It will never level you up, no matter what cope you want to tell yourself. If you spend too much of your time in it, you will stand still. You are preferring a fake world because the real world is too hard. Most gamers are NGMI. As a grown man, if you can actually sit there and play video games, you’re way behind. At a certain point it should be impossible for you to even give your attention to something so pointless. Porn is similarly soulsucking and debased. Now think of this: there are dudes playing porn video games. The abyss itself has stared long into these men and found them wanting.

When you finally lock eyes on a good one—someone who actually clicks—you move with care. No sudden gestures, no desperate energy. Just steady, deliberate pursuit. You’ve calibrated every word, every step, so as not to spook the rare creature worth the pursuit. Then, right as things start aligning, the on-lookers materialize from the shadows. The ones who never noticed before. The ones who passed you by when you were invisible. Now they swarm, suddenly loud, suddenly entitled, as if your attention was a public resource they’re owed a cut of. Try to brush them off politely? They turn feral. Agitated, indignant, even hostile—like you’ve committed some grave betrayal by choosing quality over their noise. Their egos bruise easy when the spotlight shifts. It’s the same old story: scarcity makes value obvious, and nothing stings quite like watching someone else claim what they ignored. The jealous chorus always sings loudest once the song is no longer for them.

I'm at the point where I need to fake chew to be able to swallow a pill to trick my body into thinking it's food. I can swallow a chunk of steak that would make a lion need an emergency tracheostomy, but a small vitamin is a challenge. I knew someone like this and made fun of them relentlessly. Now I've become that person. Going to start hiding my vitamin D in a piece of cheese like a dog.
