@JessePeltan I love EVs and don’t see myself going back to gas for many reasons. But we aren’t without problems there and need to evolve this technology

@JessePeltan Electricity costs also can go up. You need energy either way. Electric energy is objectively cleaner (when it comes to exhaust) but batteries also carry problems with needing raw materials and not much in terms of recycling toxic elements that go into them, all needs addressing

@gsalisb @DesertVikingRTW @elonmusk How frequently do you drive this? do you drive 8-10hours without a stop to eat, stretch, use bathrooms? You make your physiological needs stops your charging stops and find chargers near food places. what we do. Many chargers are near strip malls, rest stops or convenience chains.

@AlanHigh4 @LangmanVince It’s a monopoly for certain type of mailings, all types of bills, IRS and local government correspondence, fines, summonses, check refunds, banks, etc. also a whole bunch of advertisement junk mail. Privatizing this would mean still selecting one service to streamline all this

good - close it up. Discontinue USPS service. Sell off the assets - trucks, property, mahcinery - all of it. Lay off every worker - they can go get jobs at UPS, Amazon, FedEx and DHL. Think of the billions in savings - what was their budget last year? Change federal law - allowing delivery of "mail" to homes. That is the only reason we still need the USPS - it's a government monopoly. BUT...BUT....the forementioned companies visit every home & business in America. Adding "mail" to their service offerings would be "cake" - so there would be no loss of service. UPS & FedEx even have stores you can go into for a person to help you. Now is the time!

@wtgphoto @FinancialPhys Billionaires complaining how they have to sell stocks if required to pay some wealth or unrealized gains tax get more support than people who end up having to sell their homes when their taxes go up, even if they don’t intend to sell and move.

What really gets me is that each year property taxes are assessed on the current value of a home, not the original purchase price. That means you’re paying taxes on unrealized gains, only to turn around and pay taxes again on the realized gain from your original purchase price when you sell your home. Home owners are getting double taxed on property and despite politicians talk about reducing property taxes, they only ever go up, even after tax relief!

@Dolphinotfish @DarrigoMelanie The point is that they won’t be deported and you know this. Having them living in a limbo and be a permanent welfare class is more draining then letting them earn their living. They also can leave sanctuary cities for cheap COL places where labor is needed vs subsisting/mooching

@ReadThinkTweet2 @DarrigoMelanie Unfortunately some people have to be deported. An influx of too many people overwhelm welfare and the economy. Supply & demand. Too often we are conflating legal and illegal migrants. They are not the same.

@TheUrbanTrucker @TransAlt @bfurnas Bikers don’t have license plates to be accosted by camera surveillance. If you get a speeding ticket by a cop you have to show up, isn’t this also the case? Reckless driving too. Speed cameras are diff. But can’t use them in bike lanes. Now what? How to enforce rules for bikes?

@TheUrbanTrucker @TransAlt @bfurnas How do bikers even get tickets? Likely because there is a witness and someone got hurt. There are no cameras in bike lanes or license plates. It’s illegal to have ppl summoned to court without witnesses. Why this isn’t done for cars as the city wants to collect speeding fees

@cityaestheticss Please at least train your bots better to recognize what city this is and what’s around this hwy (a vast waterfront park) and that there are indeed trains already in existence. A lot of you don’t know. Get better training data set?

@TonyLaneNV @i_ub2 When a person doesn't even have respect for his fellow humanity, there must be repercussions for one's actions. If the punishment is a slap on the wrist and turned loose, there are no fears of the punishment. Good on this judge. Maybe this will be a turning point for him.

18 YEARS OLD… 25 YEARS IN PRISON A Texas teen just got hit with 25 years for a convenience store robbery. The judge made it clear - probation wasn’t even on the table due to his previous record while being held in jail. Said he didn’t have a real chance at success outside. His family broke down in court as the sentence was handed down. At 18… your whole life is just starting - But one decision can change everything forever. Do you think this sentence fits the crime… or is it too much? ⬇️ 🇺🇸

@RememberSekhmet @minithoughtsz @jonbrooks I thought new generation is broke. Are you saying they have managed to build lives, buy houses elsewhere and have kids and aren’t broke enough to desperately need their parents homes? 😆 well, it’s the oxymoron of this entire X rage bait topic.

@KennethKirkPC @luinalaska Body is forcing ppl to sell homes. It’s all BS propaganda. And you should be able to pass it to your kids. If they don’t want it then younger generation isn’t in as much trouble as we think since so many kids don’t want their parents homes. If this headline is true

@luinalaska The reason boomers don't want to give up homes, is we were raised on the idea of deferred gratification; if you delay spending in younger years, you can enjoy life later on. So we did, and now young people who don't want to wait, tell us to sell the homes we raised our kids in?

You’re totally right. No one can or should force a boomer out of their 4 bedroom house to make space financially and quite literally for the next generation. True. Most generations understood wealth in more linear terms. Grandpa to son to grandson. The hope and expectation was that the children had the benefit of their lineage. No one can make the boomers less selfish. History will be unkind. So will statistics. But you are technically correct. No one can force them nor should we try. The legacy is earned and it will be lasting.
MinnnesotaFan@MinnesotaFan92

@luinalaska People usually remain in their home because they can't afford to move, or because they like their home, neighbors and community. No one has a right to tell them they must move anymore than anyone has a right top their money.

@ReadThinkTweet2 @DarrigoMelanie Why was ICE a flop? Seems like the media and ignorant fight them. Sanctuary cities/states are a drain on federal resources. Put "them" to work? Doing what? More workers equals lower pay. Corporations like more workers. Lower wages and higher prices. Simple supply & demand.

@Dolphinotfish @DarrigoMelanie They are already working some. Delivery bikes are now predominantly migrants in NYC. Many work in restaurants, cleaning jobs, construction. Women with kids also beg and sell stuff on subways. They aren’t going to leave and NYC wont stop being a sanctuary city. Now what?

@ReadThinkTweet2 @DarrigoMelanie What jobs? More workers for fewer jobs equals lower pay. More people buying resources equals higher prices. An economy has to grow naturally. It can't absorb 10+ million in a short period of time. Canada's economy is struggling with the same issue.
