I still view myself as a liberal in many ways. You know, the kind that is: - pro technology - pro science - pro environment - pro gay marriage - pro capitalism - pro free speech - pro legitimate social programs Etc, etc, etc... This is basically what a good chunk of the right is these days. The Overton window has definitely shifted.

Some people who follow me might not like hearing this, but liberals aren’t the enemy, and I mean actual liberals not the subversive types who hide behind the label, but true liberals, it’s the subversive Marxists that are the problem. Never forget it.

You know what would be heroic? At one of these child rape parties we read about, the word gets out to someone who has had enough, and that person gets a few of his well-armed friends together, and they execute all the rapists in flagrante delicto.

Researchers found that land surface temperatures around these facilities increase by an average of 2°C (3.6°F) after they become operational, with some sites experiencing spikes as high as 9.1°C (16.4°F). This “data heat island effect” is not limited to the immediate area. Elevated temperatures were detected as far as 10 kilometers (about 6.2 miles) away, potentially affecting the living conditions, energy demands, and health of communities near these massive facilities. The study estimates that up to 343 million people worldwide live in areas influenced by these heat islands. Led by researchers from the University of Cambridge, the analysis examined more than 6,000 data centers globally using NASA satellite land surface temperature data spanning two decades. The intense heat comes primarily from high-performance computing chips running continuously for AI training and inference, which produce substantial waste heat despite advanced cooling systems. As global data center electricity consumption is projected to nearly double by 2030, the authors warn that this underappreciated environmental impact could worsen heat-related health risks, increase residential cooling costs, and place additional strain on local power grids.
