1. This CBS story is not identifying any specific fraud (or even new instances of suspected fraud) that state or federal authorities weren't already aware of 2. California's 2021-2022 state auditor report already flaged these issues. The story is using the red flags in that report 3. California already imposed a moratorium on new hospice licenses because of these findings 4. You would never know any of the above from the way CBS (and even more so Nick Shirley) are framing this as if they discovered a fresh bombshell. Do you not see that? 5.
