@AmericaFirstCon They won't send missiles against Israel and risk retaliation. They will just close the straits again and watch the global economy tank. Don't blame Israel though. They will not be your scraficial lamb for 50cents less at the gas station.

I get a lot of threats from pro-Pals but this one is particularly grim. I would usually ignore it but the account is based in the UK and seems like a real person. A really horrible one.

@TheJewishIdea The difference here is that Arafat committed to change but didn't. Iran has not made any committments to change. It is not a peace agreement , it is a surrender memorandum.

The MOU (Oslo 2.0) is fundamentally flawed. It assumes Iran will change or somehow has actually changed. When Yitzhak Rabin shook hands with Yassar Arafat, the world applauded. They all were given a Peace Prize. But a leopard does not change its spots. Arafat used every dollar to murder and maim innocent Israelis. Why is Israel so "rough" on Hezbollah in Lebanon? They've seen carnage first hand. Trusting Iran to change is not just foolish, it's dangerous and dumb.

@GeraldoRivera We. I wonder if Israel ever thought of that. That's literally the IDF strategy. But Lebanon is not strong enough to counter hizbolla and the IRGC and now trump has even abandoned the Lebanese.

Israel and the U.S. must settle their dispute over the pursuit of Hezbollah. Israel must turn down the violence in Lebanon. Trump is right. Kill the bad guys if you can, but spare the innocents. Give Lebanon a chance to be a country.

@black_bukowski @TheModerateCase They can dismantle the miles and miles of military tunnels and infrastructure that hiZbolla has built over decades , like in Gaza. It's a slow process and very messy, but it is how you defeat hiZbolla and get them on their back heels.

@TheModerateCase The only reason Israel is going to resist ending its war on Hezbollah is in an effort to sabotage a peace deal. It cannot irradiate Hezbollah and it cannot continue fighting forever, so it needs the US to continue in the fight. It is attempting to manipulate the US.

The MoU was DOA. Never even seriously realistic at all from point 1. Israel isn’t going to stop fighting against Hezbollah. And why should Iran set conditions on Israel in Lebanon?

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy (IRGC-N) has once again closed the Strait of Hormuz, warning all vessels to not attempt to cross, following Israel’s refusal to withdraw from and strikes this morning on Southern Lebanon, with the following message being broadcast on maritime frequencies near the Strait by the IRGC: “Since Israel’s withdrawal from Lebanon, the complete lifting of the naval blockade, and the withdrawal of American terrorist forces from the Persian Gulf and the region are among the main conditions of the agreement between Iran and the United States. The Strait of Hormuz will remain closed until these conditions are met. All ships are requested, for the sake of their security and safety, not to approach the Strait of Hormuz. Any vessel that defies this directive will be targeted.”

@sentdefender Isn't amazing the new weapon that Iran has found. Not missiles in Israel which would only result in a counter attack. If the US and the rest of the world do not intervene and take the straits away from Iran, this will go one forever.

@MostafaSalemCNN So they can wait until Israel has finished cleaning up south Lebanon from the terrorist infrastructure and hiZbolla strongholds. Once hiZbolla threat is removed , Israel can go home but will be back as soon as hiZbolla raises its head again.

Iran has asked for guarantees that hostilities in Lebanon will end before it resumes talks with the US in Switzerland, a diplomat with knowledge of the matter told CNN. “The Iranians have asked for guarantees that hostilities in Lebanon will end, as outlined in the signed agreement,” the diplomat said, adding that “mediators are currently working to resolve the issue.” The source described the planned talks as now “temporarily postponed following the Israeli strikes in Lebanon” without saying when mediators expect a resumption.

BREAKING: Israel’s latest offensive in southern Lebanon is now threatening to spill directly into the U.S.-Iran agreement. Following Israeli airstrikes and a new ground advance against Hezbollah, Iran has suspended negotiations with the United States and says it will not implement any commitments under the new MOU unless attacks in Lebanon stop. The deal wasn’t derailed in Tehran. It may be derailed in Lebanon. 👀

We all need to understand something important: one of the greatest strategic victories Iran, Hamas, and Hezbollah could ever hope to achieve is the complete erosion of the U.S.-Israel relationship. From their perspective, driving a wedge between Washington and Jerusalem would be a far more consequential achievement than carrying out multiple October 7-style attacks, because it would significantly weaken the partnership they view as the foundation of their most formidable opposition. This is why Lebanon is such a significant issue at the moment. Does anyone know how Israel succeeded in pressuring Hezbollah into accepting a ceasefire and stepping back from the war, effectively abandoning Hamas after more than a year of hostilities following the October 7 attack? It was the result of a well-executed strategy that combined years of intelligence gathering and operational preparation. Israel decimated Hezbollah's leadership in a matter of months, sending the organization into shock. It forced Hezbollah to abandon Hassan Nasrallah's pledge that it would never abandon "Palestine" (by which he meant Hamas) and ultimately compelled the group to accept a ceasefire. What is happening now in southern Lebanon, including the maintenance of an Israeli security corridor and the continuation of daily strikes, has not convinced the American leadership, or many others, including myself, that Israel's current strategy toward Hezbollah is producing meaningful progress. Yes, Israel requires security in the north, but I have not observed the same level of shock and disorganization within Hezbollah that was evident during those fateful months in late 2024. As a result, the President and Vice President are now openly rebuking Israel's actions in Lebanon. This rhetoric serves only the interests of Iran and its proxies. The U.S.-Israel relationship has reached a point where the Vice President is publicly advancing talking points that align with Hezbollah's position. Prime Minister Netanyahu and the President need to have a "come to Moses" moment and resolve their differences. If they do not, I suspect the U.S.-Israel relationship is going to become increasingly strained. Israel is risking a great deal, including the erosion of whatever leverage it still possesses over Hamas in Gaza, not to mention the military and political support it receives from the United States. If preserving this relationship requires Israel to return to the drawing board on its campaign against Hezbollah, then that option may be worth considering. The consequence, however, is that Hezbollah and its allies would likely use the opportunity to rearm and rebuild their position in southern Lebanon. Whether that tradeoff is worthwhile remains an open question. What I am certain of, however, is that the current trajectory of the U.S.-Israel relationship is unsustainable.

Israel is going to sabotage the deal. I’m not sure why we got into this with them because we don’t have the same goals. In fact their goals are unrealistic and they won’t back off of them. If the rules of the deal are Israel pulling out of Lebanon and that’s all they need to not do to sabotage.

@MarioNawfal Israel has nothing to do with the deal. They are not a signatory and we're not consulted. They will do what needs to be done to defend their people. If the US was dumb enough to commit on behalf of a party over which they have no jurisdiction, then that's on them.

Bibi should ignore Trump and do what's right for Israel. Trump shouted at Zelensky but continued to support Ukraine, he threatened NATO but didn't touch Greenland, he fought with Iran and is now praising them. Clearly, his bark doesn't lead to biting.

🚨🇱🇧🇮🇱 Hezbollah and Israeli forces are reportedly clashing right now in Ali Al Tahrir in southern Lebanon, with Hezbollah firing rockets at Israeli positions and the IDF answering with artillery and flares. An Israeli airstrike just hit nearby Zebdin. This is the deal's central contradiction playing out in real time. The MOU signed says the war ends on all fronts, Lebanon included. The fighting in the south clearly did not get the memo. Source: Tabz on TG / Writer: Daniel
