Protestants: “Ew! Y'all claim to eat the Body of Christ! That's cannibalism! Not biblical!” Catholics: “Cannibalism is eating a dead human. Jesus Christ is now alive! Resurrected! This is why Jesus taught: Amen, amen, I say unto you: except you eat the flesh of the Son of man and drink his blood, you shall not have life in you. (Jn 6:54) If you want His resurrected life, you must eat His Eucharistic Body. He said so.

@BibleInContext1 @BibleInContext1 claims to be a Bible scholar, yet he has no published theological works in any peer reviewed scholarly journal. He also claims to be an ex-Catholic, receiving all sacraments including marriage in the church, yet no corroborating evidence exists. He is a fraud.

In Luke 1:28, Gabriel says to Mary: “Χαῖρε, κεχαριτωμένη, ὁ Κύριος μετὰ σοῦ.” - chaire, kecharitōmenē, ho kyrios meta sou The Latin Vulgate, translated by Jerome, renders it: gratia plena = “full of grace” This translation became standard in Catholic tradition. The Greek Does NOT literally say “full of grace” There is no Greek word for “full” (like plērēs) in the text It does not describe Mary as a source or reservoir of grace The Greek doesn’t say Mary is “full of grace”—it says she has been graced. That’s very different. → Translated “Hail, O favored one, the Lord is with you!” (ESV) or “Greetings, O favored one, the Lord is with you!” (NIV). The verb chaire literally means “rejoice!” or “be glad.” It was also a common Greek salutation, roughly like saying “Greetings” or “Hello,” but with a tone of goodwill.

@LizzieMarbach @PryncessElf @farmingandJesus @CatholicFides @BreeSolstad Plērēs Charitos is grace as a powerful but temporary filling of God's divine life — His own nature and being — poured into a soul for a specific mission or moment. Stephen received this grace as God's divine life actively working through him to preach and perform miracles.

@BibleInContext1 Reposting. And the Protestant butchering of “It is Finished” is tiresome to the point of becoming a meme. Good luck with your $1,000 Bible course grift.
Lynel Hutz@Lynel_Hutz

@grok this knucklehead asserts the Eucharist as a symbol based on Scriptures. Based on Jesus’s doubling down on the literal meaning of consuming His flesh (“this is a hard teaching”), his declaration of “this IS my body and blood;” the fact that John declared “Behold the Lamb of God” and Jews had to actually eat the sacrificial lamb to be saved at Passover; and that on the road to Emmaus the disciples “came to know Him in the breaking of the bread,” with Paul finally declaring that consuming the Eucharist unworthily brings condemnation, he doesn’t appear to show any actual evidence for his specious claims. Evaluate the passages I presented in light of his symbol view. As Flannery O’Connor says, if it’s a symbol, to hell with it.

Millions of Catholics today believe that a priest has the power… to bring Christ down from heaven… to offer Him again… and again… on an altar. But Scripture says Christ was offered once for all. Jesus said, “It is finished.” Realize that the idolatry of the Eucharist cannot exist… without the blasphemy of the Mass. So today we’re going to open the Bible… and look at what Catholicism actually teaches… and test everything… against the Word of God. Because this is not a small error… this is the difference between true worship… and idolatry. Watch the full video at Philippians 1:9 Ministries! #catholic

Who decides what "true faith" is? Who defines the "true Christ"? Who identifies the "true gospel"? In Protestantism, the answer is always the same: the individual, appealing to his own interpretation of Scripture, and however he feels that day. "Faith alone" functionally becomes: "faith, as I personally define it, in the Christ and gospel as I personally declare them to be." This is why they all run around shouting "faith alone" while continually fracturing into thousands of contradictory sects.

@BishopJaxi @SonsofLiberty72 lols you catholics are just assuming that protestants once saved can sin all the time and be saved. You always ignore the works of the Holy Spirit. You are offended to Sola Fide because your doctrine teaches you a work based salvation.

@RabbitsJustice @lukemoon1 @ShaneSchaetzel lols, here in Asia, Catholicism is dying, praise God! Protestants are doing a good job introducing the Gospel. Unlike in RCC, priests just want you to do this, do that to be favored by Lord.

The bishops of the Catholic Church have no idea what is coming and they are completely unprepared for it. American Protestantism is collapsing. “Spiritual but not religious” doesn’t work. And Generation Z has figured it out. Catholicism is their primary destination now.👇🏻

How to be Protestant: Get a Bible. Delete 7 books to save on printing costs. Skim the rest. Take note of the word "you." When it says something nice about you, it means "you personally." When it criticizes you, it means "other people, probably Catholics." That's it.

@LGgentilette @timotheeology “Flesh” here = human understanding / natural thinking (like elsewhere in Scripture: “the flesh” vs “the Spirit”). So He’s saying: “You’re trying to understand this on a merely human level—you need the Spirit.”

When the Pope makes questionable comments, it makes me GRATEFUL to be Catholic. Because the Pope has no authority to unilaterally change Catholic dogma with his pastoral comments. The Pope speaks in two ways, pastorally and rarely, infallibly (called ex Cathedra, which requires a certain set of specific circumstances as the Pope acknowledges, not invents, a doctrinal interpretation). The latter almost never happens. That’s important— His comments today are in his pastoral capacity. He wasn’t speaking ex Cathedra. Catholics aren’t required to agree with his opinions. It’s annoying for sure, I wish the Pope was a wiser leader on matters of politics. But I’m SO grateful to be Catholic because imagine he were the leader of a Prot church—he could change doctrine based on his own faulty opinions at a whim. That’s not the case with Catholicism. Grateful to God for His Church that remains as it always was and always will be despite the turmoil of the world and the sins of man. 🙏🏼
