If you look at the tactics of the @IDF you could logically conclude that their intent was to sink the ship and ensure there were no survivors. 1. Start the attack using unmarked aircraft while jamming our radios on both @USNavy tactical and international maritime distress frequencies. 2. Aircraft deliberately target every antenna mount and gun tube to destroy our communications and defensive capabilities. 3. Aircraft drop napalm canisters onto the ship to drive the crew below decks. 4. Torpedo boats attack by firing five torpedoes at the #USSLiberty. (These torpedoes were set to run at a depth that would result in their passing under the el Quseir without striking her.) 5. Torpedo boats deliberately machine gun life rafts we dropped over the side in anticipation of abandoning ship. 6. Helicopters arrive containing armed combat troops. I personally saw one of these helos as it hovered very close to the port wing of the bridge. I clearly saw armed troops in the open door of the helo. 7. @IDF units depart the scene after ceasing hostilities instead of offering aid immediately as is their obligation under international law only to return over an hour later with an offer to help—an obvious attempt to gain access to the ship.
