@YossiGozlan @SamQuinnCBS Do you guys think reaves won’t want to return to lebrons retirement tour? Rather run a team?

@NetsFansYouKnow @BKNets613 You have a lot of avenues to still make trades. Mle/biannual/ clax/mann contracts and a boat load of picks. You have extremely cheap depth and can re-sign mpj to a 35 mil deal next offseason. Guys have to develop but the idea is there

@RPNetsJets @BKNets613 You'd have to draft/trade for a C & you'd have little room for depth if anyone gets hurt. Also this would be saying you'd have to hit on Egor + #6. AR, Demin, SF/6, MPJ, C/6 It's tough when 50% of ur cap is given to them while other teams have all-nba guys at that cap space.

@NetsFansYouKnow @BKNets613 It could but the upside is there where if your two lottery guys work out to above average starters, they have contracts in clax/mann plus picks to make the final move

@RPNetsJets @BKNets613 I'd look at it like this: if you sign Reaves, youre keeping MPJ most likely. No sense to sign AR to get rid of MPJ. Doing that, Reaves & MPJ will make up 50% of your cap for the next 3-4 years with a lot less flexibility. If one of them gets hurt, it could get ugly.

@NetsFansYouKnow @BKNets613 All star level talent that costs 0 assets is the exact reason for the flexibility. I can see the bloated contract for Powell and Wiggins as well

@RPNetsJets @BKNets613 He could get more $ & sponsorships in LA, but I just dont believe the Nets would do it, Marks pushes flexibility. If they get him I dont think it helps too much, they need more help to reach play-in. I think 1 yr bloated contract for McCollum or Powell makes more sense.

@NetsFansYouKnow @BKNets613 Definitely understand the reasoning but he might get sold on Max money, face of the franchise, major sponsorships. I don’t think some fans realize how amazing a signing like that in today’s cba changes the direction of the franchise

@NetsFansYouKnow @BKNets613 No worries it’s early lol. Adding Wilson to my for sure leaving crew (forgot about him) if we sign reaves i could see marks making a lot of moves tbh

@RPNetsJets @BKNets613 I read your last comment wrong my bad, youre saying they were going to add that. I thought you meant thats who was getting cut. I think agree with that last tweet for the most part.

@NetsFansYouKnow @BKNets613 No shot they cut a rook but could easily see one of the lower picks in a trade. Honestly i think every move depends on if we could actually land reaves in free agency. That’s such a massive move in today’s cba

@RPNetsJets @BKNets613 The rooks are safe, theyre young & cutting them would admit they messed up bad. Ochai & Wilson maybe out (JW back on a vets min?). Smith was just signed but its a TO. You'd need a big move if MPJ or Clax are out. Think they add 1 rookie, 1 "big FA", 2 vets, 1 two-way.

@NetsFansYouKnow @BKNets613 2 rookies, 4 vets via trade or free agency. Tough to guess names at this point. Z/clax/smith/ochai are my for sure leavers

@Nets_Jkidd @BillyReinhardt Dude this is exactly it, marks has to overthink this for no reason. Take whatever elite offensive talent is left and move on

If the Nets opt for a guard at 6 and want to go super young in the backcourt, I would not mind both. Wagler/Brown Demin Porter Grant Sabonis Team would be competitive and probably get a play in spot while maintaining future flexibility. Grant and Sabonis both expire after next season and can keep the Nets’ books clean or be big time salary fillers for star trades.

In the Kevin Durant era, Jerami Grant was a long rumored target for Brooklyn. The Nets were even considering offers for Grant leading up to the 2023 deadline before being blindsided by Kyrie Irving’s trade request, which led to KD’s, and blew up the team. But Grant might make some sense in Brooklyn this offseason depending on which way the Nets go in the draft. If Brooklyn goes guard or big rather than wing/forward, Grant, now 32, could be a Swiss Army knife forward next to Michael Porter Jr. Grant is coming off a year in which he averaged 18.6 points per game on 60.9 TS% and 38.9% from three. With just 2-years, $70M remaining, Grant could be an efficient scoring, versatile defending, veteran stabilizer for Brooklyn while allowing them to maintain future flexibility.

@BillyReinhardt Interesting is egor’s splits were great pre injury at BYU. There is no excuse for the shooting for Nate. Also its really hard to find a guy that was picked in the top 6 in any draft who shot sub 40% from the field and isn’t really elite at anything on either side of the ball

It’s actually quite similar to the Egor Dëmin debates last year. If you didn’t believe in the jumper, Dëmin was not a lottery pick. If you did, he was a top-10 lock. I liked Dëmin and had him 14, thinking the jumper could be serviceable. Nets knew more & the jumper was elite. Now his ceiling and floor are both much higher. The form was already pretty in the pre-draft process. Same could be said for Nate Ament and if the projection on his jumper is positive, he’s going to be a similar impact player.
Billy Reinhardt@BillyReinhardt

Nate Ament’s draft profile really comes down to if you think he can shoot. That’s not a worry at all for me. Watch the guy shoot. Good FT shooter. Strong shooting priors. From there, it’s about attacking the rim and improving his efficiency at the rim. He already draws a lot of FTs. Get stronger. Less self-created rim attempts in the pros, at least early on, should help the efficiency. (via @draftballr)
