In all seriousness, I am most genuinely concerned about what will happen to @biorxivpreprint if Twitter goes down. BioRXiv has done so much for open-source science, disseminating research, and democratizing access. Many of us owe our careers to it. I know I do.

We are paying $3400 for infant daycare at Harvard. In 2017 as a first year postdoc, this is higher than my post tax salary. It does not make sense financially to work as a postdoc and to raise a kid. You wonder why some women quit science at this point??

Did you know: UCSF daycare is $2800/mo for infants? 😳😳😳 A UCSF 2bedroom is $2779/mo $5579/mo in just rent and daycare 🤯 To afford rent, daycare, and everything else, I have a 2x90min commute and live 30miles away from campus. It is very difficult. @UAW5810

Super excited to visit @BalskusLab next week! During my PhD I have discovered very interesting enzymes with potential novel chemistry. I can’t wait to share my science with the Balskus lab but also learn some anaerobic biochemistry and enzymology. Thanks @ResUniAlliance!
