Most beginners think 'profit' = revenue minus product cost. Real margin math: - Revenue - Product cost - Shipping - Payment processing (2.9%) - Refunds - Chargebacks - Ad spend If you're not calculating all 6, you don't know your margins. You might already be losing money.

On lower plans, you’re paying significantly higher transaction fees. Once you hit the €100k/mo mark, the fee reduction on Shopify Plus often covers 1.5x the monthly subscription cost alone. You aren't "spending" $2,300. You're reallocating fees into a more powerful platform.

@BigCommerce is updating its pricing structure (effective June 1, 2026), moving to new tiers like Core, Growth, and Scale with adjusted revenue thresholds and overage fees. It now feels more like Shopify: monthly subscription + costs that scale with your sales volume. Without the large app ecosystem. This is a short-sighted move that screams desperation. Instead of focusing on how to better support their merchant base and help them grow, they're finding new ways to extract more revenue and boost perceived valuation. I've seen this playbook before in franchise models. Corporate pumps the numbers to make the company look attractive for the next buyer, but they do it at the expense of the franchisees. The core company gets bought and sold multiple times, each time with fresh promises of growth, while in reality the franchisees are bled dry to inflate the valuation. Eventually, the company dies because it bled its own ecosystem dry.

@MEEcom44 That’s rough.. having a payout freeze with zero warning is the worst. Do you have any way of tracking payout holds or delays in one place, or are you just checking Shopify manually whenever something feels off?

@Tob1kX @harleyf @ShopifySupport Same, they are investigating, each day same response. They didn't tell anythink about, hold, reserve funds etc. All seems fine, we receive some payouts, some stuck, and this amount reached almost 20k+ , all payouts status is Pending.... :)

Almost 2 months, there is a bug or something in our shopify payments, 3/1 of our sales stuck in Pending status other payouts we can receive without any issues,. We are in touch with support but almost 1+ month each day they tell they are investigating.. @harleyf @ShopifySupport

@Tob1kX @observingweb3 Since its 7 days payout I cut down my ad spend meaning where I would be making 10k$ daily I have to stick with 2k$ with 15% profit margin on the UK store so if I have capital of 5k$ I spread it across 7 days so that next seven days are payout ..

Sell to non English countries. Take winners from US market. Translate your website and ads and buy local domains. If 1 market works, expand to more. Always sell in the native language. 30.6k (Norway) = $3.2k 21.6k (Denmark) = $3.4k €6.2k (German)= $7.4k €5.6 (French)= $6.7k

Hey @harleyf @ShopifySupport 8 days ago Shopify emailed me saying Shopify Payments was active again with payouts in 2–3 days. 2 days later: “Once an account is declined the decision is final. Funds held for 120 days.” Opposite decisions, no explanation.

I woke up this morning and everything was working fine then suddenly all payouts were frozen and my account got suspended. No email. No explanation. No required action on my side. The only message shown in my dashboard says it could be related to verification, incorrect banking details, or product eligibility but I haven’t received anything to review or submit. I’m honestly shocked. Now a significant amount of funds is on hold, completely blocking my business. I have a team to pay, and overnight everything stopped without warning. I’ve reached out multiple times but haven’t received any clear response. I’m fully compliant and ready to provide any documents immediately I just need clarity and a way to resolve this. Please escalate this. My DMs are open. If anyone can RT to help increase visibility, I’d really appreciate it 🙏
