@DPearsonPHL my dude every single ticket challenged under these grounds is dismissed. State must prove the driver was operating that vehicle, which it cannot when issued ticket to a vehicle itself. Just because people are dumb and pay a bill in the mail doesn't make it legal or constitutional

I'm honestly a little shocked at how smoothly the rollout of speed cameras across Philadelphia has gone. Outside of influencer types (and the worst member of Council) there's no substantial opposition so far.

One SEPTA revenue generation strategy I haven't yet seen proposed:
Updating parking rates at regional rail stations to target 85% occupancy at peak. Flat fees across the entire system don't make sense when there is varying demand, and $2 per day is far too low when lots fill.

This is in part because we haven't embraced proven strategies, like road diets. Camera enforcement is great, we can also use more police enforcement, but we also have to be willing to embrace changes on commercial corridors. We can't afford more Washington Avenues.

IMO, SEPTA has the best bones of any transit system in America outside of NYC. By and large, its shortcomings are the fault of a small minded city council, inert regional planning, and a hostile state senate
