@CodeRed_dev I don't understand why one needs to be better than the other. Its gamedev, you will suffer no matter what you choose, with godot, at least the editor will load quicker

It's weird how I'll see these videos with like 18k views and think "I must be on some weird list where they send me the videos that people don't watch, I wonder what the mainstream gamedev videos are". But maybe this is sit, maybe this industry and this community really is in the dirt and no one's really carrying the torch of gamedev at all. KInda shitty when you think about it. Gamedev is so dead that there's no one really left to talk about how dead it is! And yeah I didn't even bother clicking, most all gamedev videos end up being rage bait or full of fabrications and misunderstandings so it's kinda pointless. It's only going to get worse, most likely.

@CodeRed_dev The programs loading to open the software was not particularly an important test for me, but yes Unity will load slower than GameMaker.

@CodeRed_dev The reason I don't use Godot is that it's maintained by amateurs, which creates instability, and also, there aren't any large companies funding the project. Besides, there are many breaking changes, which are very rare in Unity. The game made in Godot 3 doesn't work in Godot 4,so

@CodeRed_dev His comparison is sloppy, but I don't think he did it on purpose. Though he could have perhaps clarified in advance that he himself is a beginner, and that he is in fact *not* aiming to make the exact same project in both engines. But that would have turned people off I guess.

@CodeRed_dev It's honestly apples and oranges. An argument that doesn't need to be made, and yet they still do it.

@CodeRed_dev Found it weird when he compared GDScript Compile time to C# instead of comparing C# in godot.

@CodeRed_dev The Godot Engine does not have official support for terrain creation; you are required to download a plugin called "Terrain3d" and lose 80% of your FPS.

@CodeRed_dev yeah. Unity loads longer - but try to import very complex character with high res tex, a lot of bones, blendshapes and stuff - model to Godot. When I tried - it litterally tok at least 10 minutes while both Unity and Unreal import it in seconds.
