We are suing Canada’s Wonderland for allegedly advertising park tickets and a variety of other items at a lower price than what consumers actually have to pay online.
News Release: canada.ca/en/competition…
@CompBureau We bought tickets during a Family Day sale a few years back. When we went to use them, in August, we were told they actually expired June 29. It was not obvious when we bought them. We had to beg even for a refund.
Canada's Wonderland is no longer a summer destination for us.
Great. Meanwhile this competition elimination board has allowed numerous grocery chain mergers, even a couple recent bank mergers (HSBC, and CWB). Also the tribunal arm allowed cable T.V. / cell phone mergers (Shaw). A recent Electric utility merger (Heartland / TransAlta). They seem to be focusing on trivial matters instead of the big things.
@CompBureau How about you don’t waste our tax dollars on stupid shit 🤦🏼♀️ give them a fine (if it’s warranted) and move on, FFS.
Such a loser clown country we live in … millions homelesss & going to food banks and they’re wasting our money on this.
@CompBureau This is literally the dumbest non-issue fluff for the competition bureau to be focused on. Is this or the stupid Cineplex non-issue really the fruit they have to show for their work? What about actual economic competition in Canada? Antitrust issues for major corporations-- oops!
@CompBureau I don't know, I bought a seasons pass yesterday. Upgrade from my ticket fo>r 59.99, I paid 67 something. Sounds like tax, no processing fee or anything. This sounds like BS @MikeJToronto there is always a clear expiry date on the tickets. I've purchased those.
@CompBureau Aren’t they owned by Six Flags now? It hasn’t been Canada’s anything since 2006 when bought by American firm Cedar Fair. Aside from a few seasonal jobs, all the money Canadians spend at Wonderland gets funneled straight to the U.S. Why go? #Toronto#Ontario
@CompBureau Agreed!
It's rather disturbing when businesses try these low down unethical tricks on consumers who simply can't tolerate the extras.. False Advertising must stop! @WonderlandCan ought to waive the legal battle & accept the terms...
@CompBureau This is a non-issue, in my opinion. I've purchased season passes, drink passes, and fast lane passes online. The $9.99 processing fee is clearly displayed. A season pass is good value if you're going a few times between May and January. They're open for Halloween and Christmas!
@CompBureau I would also like to see ski resorts not being bought up by @ValeResorts. It's cheaper to fly to @JapanGov and stay and ski than it is to be in @whistler. Disgusting!
@CompBureau@kinsellawarren What a waste of time and resources! Why don't you sue Air Canada or Vombardier for their stupidity, grifting taxpayers and gross negligence?!
@CompBureau@CompBureau is a 🗑️🗑️🗑️🗑️🗑️🗑️🗑️🗑️🗑️department. Allows illegal cannabis to flourish and suck all integrity out of a potentially $10 billion legal market. Shameful. Useless.
@CompBureau We went for Halloween Haunt in October 2022. The line park was literally crowded beyond belief. The offramp for highway 400 was backed up beyond live lanes of 400 and parking was 98% full. You couldn't even walk. It was 100% a fire code violation. They oversold. Done with them.
