@DaveShapi Not so simple. Example - a boomer bought a $500k house in FL to retire. The house value shot up, now worth say $3M. Cool right? A boomer millionaire, right? Wrong! This person will now be paying over $50k in real estate tax plus $20k or so on insurance, without any real income.
English

@DaveShapi So much of that wealth is controlled by the banks.
Because we are too stupid to know how to invest for ourselves.
English

@DaveShapi It'll soon enough be generational wealth passed down to Millennial children, etc. This is the cheat code to be rich: just get born that way.
English

@DaveShapi They will be liquidating that wealth, and a large portion of it will be zapped by the healthcare industry. This will make borrowing capital for future generations much more expensive for the next 20-years till the Millennials (children of Boomers) get up to 50-year age mark.
English

@DaveShapi Not just that, they also wont retire and let others have high paying jobs.. they wont give up power.
English

@DaveShapi Keep that in mind... when considering what? What is the point here? Sincere questions.
English

@DaveShapi How many billionaires are boomers?
English

@DaveShapi aprx 76 million people vs aprx 900 people also keep that in mind.
English

@DaveShapi @ZohranKMamdani you need to address this injustice! I think it's obvious. no more boomers!
English

@DaveShapi Yeah
Data suggests
“Greatest transfer of wealth is incoming and all the thieves are lining up to rob retirees who earned it old school”
Tell them all
“Do not rob from ancestors… they get very serious”
English

@DaveShapi This is why a universal basic income funded by a land value tax and value added tax is ideal.
English

@DaveShapi And all these trillions put together can't buy any one of these folks another 100 years of life.
English

@DaveShapi The 75% of the value in the 85T comes from real estate, which will be passed on to GenX/GenZ inheritors, who will monetize by selling the real estaste fast (boomers = large supply vaccuum). Of the 85T, about 8-10 will flow into BTC, multiplying its market cap into the $30tns
English

@DaveShapi That's a striking comparison! It really highlights the wealth gap and the concentration of resources in different generations.
English

@DaveShapi It's not an entitlement , we worked for every penny.
English

@DaveShapi @farzyness source?
and there is a big difference between a billionaire (almost nobody) and a millionaire (almost every boomer).
English

@DaveShapi @NPCsPostingLs They literally have all the nations money with no plans of passing it down like generations before them. Smh
English

@DaveShapi Interesting, I also wonder how much of an impact this particular Boomer wealth has on housing prices, and the struggles we are experiencing in that sector.
English

@DaveShapi @farzyness Won’t be long and they’ll be passing a lot of that wealth onto the next generation and then everyone can hate them.
English

@DaveShapi @farzyness Most of which will be transferring through inheritance over the next decade.
English

@DaveShapi so what is the logic of “tax the rich” …
wealth is unrealized.
sell to pay tax.
realized sale reduces total wealth.
repeat until we are all poor?!
make it make sense.
