@MorosKostas While I appreciate the clarity, I feel like this question might confuse some people. At least with the old system you kinda knew for 99% of people who aren’t prohibited the first answer is yes and all the other ones are no.

I really, really like how the form makes clear buying guns as a gift is totally fine. That's long been a point of confusion for both buyers and dealers.

@EdDinIL @MorosKostas I haven’t read the opinion but I’m sure the wording of it on the ballot “to restore fairness” has to have also been a factor considering that Virginia law requires ballot measures to use politically neutral language.

@MorosKostas The vote wasn't overturned because it was gerrymandering. It was overturned because of the way they went about rushing the vote. SCOVA described the pathway that needs to be taken to do it, and I hope like hell the people in Virginia stand up to block it when they try again.

@chandler5554 @lyagonalcutters What makes this particularly infuriating is that if they got Javy out at any point before he touched first base, that run wouldn’t have counted. The first baseman’s worst fuckup was not chasing Javy, it was throwing the ball to the catcher.

@cnkirch1215 That is kinda awesome! I don't think I could ever get used to Sunday Night Football starting at 5:15pm though, that's crazy early. Especially since if you live in LA, 4:30-8:30 are already blocked off on your evening calendar for spending-time-in-traffic...

@stoolgambling @StoolBaseball @barstoolWSD In the scenario where the catcher drops the third strike, the batter may attempt to run to first base. If they reach safely (first base empty, or two outs), they are safe. It goes in the books as a strikeout but the batter is safe at first.

@joeroganhq The economic illiteracy is astounding. This is the type of person writing our laws. It’s the most basic economics: Iran not exporting oil creates scarcity in the global market. There is increased demand for oil from the places we’re getting it, that’s what makes the price go up.

Tim Burchett tells Joe Rogan: "We get zero oil from Iran. Zero. Yet the price is going through the roof... because it can... I just think it’s a racket. The oil companies, they’ll shake that money tree. They know how to do it on both sides of the aisle."

@Heiwajima_Neroo @gregorykennedy @Scyon13 Ask Samsung, or Mitsubishi? Samsung makes ships, screens, world’s tallest building (in Dubai) & laundry machines. Mitsubishi makes refrigerators, pens, cars, AC & power plants. If that were the case, There would be no Switch 2 because Nintendo would still be making playing cards.

Dave: “Hello, caller, you are on the air.” Caller: “I don’t think billionaires create value.” Dave: “Okay. What do you mean by that?” Caller: “Nobody can earn a billion dollars ethically.” Dave: “Alright. What do you do for a living?” Caller: “Well, before this, I was a bartender.” Dave: “Nothing wrong with bartending. Honest work.” Caller: “Right.” Dave: “And now?” Caller: “I work in government.” Dave: “Okay. So let me get this straight. You're saying Elon Musk, who helped build PayPal, Tesla, SpaceX, and Starlink, has made innovations like online payments, electric cars, rockets, and satellite internet possible, didn't earn his way to being a billionaire?" Caller: “None of that justifies being a billionaire.” Dave: “Well, sure sounds like value got created somewhere along the line.” Caller: “I disagree.” Dave: “What exactly did you build?” Caller: “I advocate for economic justice.” Dave: “No ma’am, I mean actual products.” Caller: “…” Dave: “You’re telling me the guy catching rockets mid-air created less value than a person who used to serve mojitos and now votes on spending his tax dollars?” Caller: “That’s unfair.” Dave: “What’s unfair is pretending markets are imaginary while cashing a government paycheck funded by the businesses you claim don’t create value.” Caller: “I’m actually a congresswoman.” Dave: “Oh Lord. Of course!"

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez: You can't earn a billion dollars. Ilana Glazer: That's right. AOC: You just can't earn that. Glazer: That's exactly correct. AOC: You can get market power. You can break rules. You can do all sorts of things. You can abuse labor laws. Glazer: Yup. AOC: You can pay people less than what they're worth. Glazer: Yup. AOC: But you can't earn that, right? Glazer: That's right. AOC: And so you have to create a myth that -- since you didn't earn that, you have to create a myth of earning it.

@YouWontFeelThis @StephenMoore People aren’t moving to Colorado, Washington, Oregon, Delaware, New Hampshire and Maine because of weather. They’re doing it because New York, Connecticut, New Jersey, California, Maryland, and Massachusetts have insane taxes and those are nearby alternatives with low taxes.

The “people moved therefore blue states failed” framing is deeply misleading. Retirees have been moving to warmer, lower-cost Sun Belt states for generations after accumulating wealth during their working years in places like California, New York, Massachusetts, and Illinois. This chart ignores: • age demographics • retirees • remote work • housing costs • climate • federal spending dependence • and where much of that wealth was actually created. Florida didn’t invent most of that wealth. It imported it.

The biggest wealth transfer in American history isn’t happening on Wall Street. It’s happening on U-Hauls. Over $2 trillion in income fled high-tax blue states for low-tax red states in just 11 years. And blue states’ solution? Raise taxes again.

@StephenMoore @guypbenson The funny thing is, all those Harris-voting states gaining population are mostly doing it on the back of people fleeing nearby blue states (most notably New York, California, New Jersey and Massachusetts).

@ishouldfeelbad @2Aupdates They actually recently amended that NJSP letter to remove the brand names (they also named CorBon Pow’RBall and I think one other in the original letter). It now just says any ammo with a polymer filling.

Anti-gun logic: We can ban hollow-point ammo because it's disproportionate for self-defense and the Second Amendment doesn't protect military arms, which is why only the police should have hollow-point ammo and everyone else should use the same type as the military
Firearms Policy Coalition@gunpolicy

Last month, New Jersey argued that hollow-point ammo isn't protected by the Second Amendment because it is "unusually dangerous," "so lethal that it has been banned under international laws of war," and "disproportionate and unnecessary for self-defense." storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.usco…

@2Aupdates @MorosKostas The age-old gun grabber trick. The 2A doesn’t protect anything used by the military because it’s way too powerful for citizens, but also it doesn’t protect anything else because a militia wouldn’t use that!

@nathanbrand Did you read the piece? He starts it by saying he’s not saying this should happen but could happen… Their stance on a lot of these type of figures is “anti anti” I believe they coined the term with Zohran. As in thy don’t like their policies but it’s better than the alternative

@2aHistory @hannahhill_sc In NYC this also results in a back door waiting period, because NYPD usually takes over a month to process these “requests” and you have to wait until they send you a new copy of your permit in the mail with that new serial # on the back of it.

@2aHistory @hannahhill_sc For NY on top of the license to purchase/possess, your local PD needs to individually approve each pistol purchse and if they refuse to add that firearm to your permit for whatever reason, you can’t possess it in the state. This also results in a backdoor ban of certain platforms
