Left-wing local media is hailing Texas Tech medical student Mohamad Altabaa as an “interfaith hero” for buying the abandoned Arnett Elementary School in January 2026 and converting the entire campus, classrooms, gym, cafeteria, library, admin offices, and sports fields, into the gleaming “Unity Center” mosque in just 45 days for Ramadan.
Altabaa (Syrian-American, ex-Texas Tech MSA president - yes, the Muslim Students Association with documented Muslim Brotherhood links) proudly posted videos saying:
“I just bought this elementary school and now I need to turn it into a masjid before Ramadan.”
Masjid = mosque. Conquest complete.
We still can’t find any public records of permits, zoning changes, conditional use permits, planning reviews, or oversight.
A former public school became a full-scale Islamic center overnight with “global support” and foreign donors, while Texas officials did nothing. And they keep on adding more and more, where did ALL of this money come from!?
🚨This is not organic. How exactly did this get approved so fast?
It is the next phase of his Syrian imam father’s Muslim Brotherhood-linked mission to build Islamic strongholds and parallel Sharia societies in the heart of red-state Texas.
🔺Imam Samer Altabaa arrived from Zabadani, a former Al-Nusra/al-Qaeda stronghold, and trained at Abu Nour seminary under radical Grand Mufti Ahmad Kuftaro, the man who issued fatwas approving jihad against U.S. forces.
He now leads prayers at his son’s new mosque.
No wonder Mohamad felt comfortable casually riding a motorcycle through war-torn HTS-controlled Syria right after Assad fell, despite U.S. travel warnings.
He even posted photos at the tomb of Ottoman conqueror Fatih Sultan Mehmet in Istanbul - surrounded by black jihadist flags and a fiery anti-Jewish crowd.
