@AllbrightNFL I mean it's one way to make the current refs look good. We saw last time how well the replacements did, and it was ugly.

Being in bed with the sports books means that millions of dollars can change hands on some of these calls, and if these replacement refs don’t, the outcry will be worse than last time.

In lieu of a new labor agreement with the NFL Referees Association, the league is planning to begin hiring replacement officials before the May 31 expiration of its current deal, according to a source.

The NFL issued a memo to clubs this weekend prohibiting public comment on the ongoing CBA negotiation with officials due to what the league says is the sensitivity of the ongoing discussions. The memo stressed that while the league has the highest regard for the game officials, officiating must improve, and that the NFL proposal would enhance the ability to hold the officials accountable for their performance while offering generous compensation packages. The union continues to resist those efforts while seeking raises almost double the rate realized by players over their last two collective bargaining agreements and millions in marketing fees. The ongoing dispute between the NFL and the union representing the game officials will be a topic of discussion when club executives, general managers, and head coaches gather at the league meeting in Phoenix, which begins today.

Correct! Time dilation is the phenomenon that explains how the Hail Mary spaceship travels to to the star, Tau Ceti (12 light-years away), in only four years for the main character.
I'm not going to even try to explain how this works here - relativity is notoriously difficult to explain. But here's a good video to help you visualize the concept of time dilation - with one caveat. What this video explains works to about our nearest galactic neighbors and then we hit the brick wall that is the expansion of the universe, which permanently moves the vast majority of the universe out of reach.

A question for everyone: survey data suggests that by the end of the Covid-19 emergency trust in public health institutions had decreased significantly. If you are among the people who reacted that way, why specifically? I'm hoping for long, diverse, individualized answers.

@TheMiddleborne I think that would be very popular for a small group of people. But the general public would rather just pay to have someone else fix things.
That may change over time with electric cars replacing IC in urban areas, and IC more popular in rural where DIY is essential.

Honestly I feel like someone could engineer a car and parts that are put together in a way that makes everything easy to replace and change out like a modular syatem.
And before you say “that’s what we had!” i mean something even easier. Like hit the lock pin and the alternator slides out of a special seating and the new one slides back in without needing to worry about wires and hookups
The parts would have to be proprietary initially, but 3rd party parts could enter the market and make things increasingly cheaper

@BarryOnHere @TheMiddleborne I'm a Broncos fan and a Tebow fan. He's a fantastic guy, a phenomenal athlete, and an excellent leader. He does amazing work as an ambassador for Christ.
But he wasn't "blackballed" from the NFL, as some comments here claim. QB's have to excel at throwing, not just running.

I'm old enough to remember when Tebow first blew up at Florida. Always thought he had to have been hiding some big secret bc there's just no way anybody is really that good of a person.
20 years later he is the only guy I can think of who was built up by the media to be a saint and has actually lived up to it. Also has a higher playoff passer rating than Tom Brady.
