@robindchnt Relative to many other vacation destinations for European travelers, the Alps become more attractive every year. Great thing about this: most iconic destinations can be easily reached by train/car. But totally agree: sad to see the climate impact.

Summer in the Alps are getting worse every year due to climate change. Mountain guides at Matterhorn and Mt Blanc even stopped their work now 😕

@patrickc @lennysan @shreyas I would even argue that a mental model and UXR need to evolve in an iterative process. Real user need and potential impact of a product often need to be researched against an existing mental model - which makes delegating UXR to a broader team challenging.

@shreyas IMO the best product will stem from a very strong mental model of the domain and the users. UXR can help you *get* to such a model, and validate it along the way, but it's important to view the syllogism as UXR -> model -> product, not UXR -> product.

I notice increasing reluctance on the part of [executives] to use judgment; they are coming to rely too much on research, and they use it as a drunkard uses a lamp post, for support rather than for illumination. – David Ogilvy (h/t Rory Sutherland) Spot on, timeless observation

This is fabulous news to anyone who has lost a loved one to this terrible disease! Let’s all hope the results can be replicated and applied to other forms of cancer as well! 👏🙏 nytimes.com/2022/06/05/hea…

@KyleSamani We use both. As notion is based on databases, relations & templates can be used very effectively. We maintain roadmaps, project overviews etc. in notion (pages and tables) but then keep links to content deep dives (e.g. memos) in google docs.

Why do you choose Notion over Google Docs for your startup? What are the 1-2 key things that Notion does much better?

Business writing remains underrated. Just had chance to go through Amazon’s PRFAQ process with a leader there and it reminded me: writing forces clarity of thought in a way nothing else can. You write to learn what you really mean with an idea. When you write you can’t hide.

Lab-grown food start-ups turn to gourmet cuisine. Having just sampled the latest iterations of @eatGOURMEY’s fine food product line at todays board meeting, my stomach tells me this category is coming very soon and will blow you away 🦆 ft.com/content/25bc41…

I'm sorry to say this but I really don't get why some of the ESOP plans from (successful) German startups are structured like it's 2000. Offering modern stock compensation is probably the best way to create a more diverse ecosystem of future founders and angels.

@awilkinson I really like the ressources from 'Prepared'. Applying some of this wisdom even "works" with my 3-year-old and helps to take more joy and learning out of everyday situations. In the end education is less about acquiring knowledge these days. preparedparents.org/resources/?fil…

@pip_net @Spotify Key challenge for me is making audio-books work ... Fixing this could be as easy as applying 90% of the podcast features. But in your logic this would kill all creativity of finding hacks to keep track of where I stopped last time 😅

What if @Spotify has a hidden agenda to prevent #dementia in users by randomly shuffling around features and buttons, creating new little riddles and challenges every day to keep your brains fit? 🤯
