For those who don't believe Chris Murphy's "awesome" tweet was sarcastic -- despite how obvious it was from the start that it was sarcastic -- what's the claim now?
Murphy woke up yesterday and decided to publicly and explicitly root for Iran in the war because, despite decades in American politics, he didn't realize that cheering America's enemy in a war would create a backlash?
But then, to his surprise, he saw that rooting against America in a war does actually create a backlash for an American politics, so now -- in order to get out of it -- he's denying his own beliefs and is just pretending he was sarcastically mocking the failure of the war?
I know that sarcasm isn't always immediately visible, especially for those whose records you don't know (Murphy is a long-time interventionist and has been bashing Trump for being too lenient with Tehran).
But there's no reason to sacrifice your intellectual honesty at the altar of dumb partisanship. Even if Chris Murphy were secretly rooting for Iran, he would know better than to publicly start cheering for them in a war This isn't even a close question. Just use your brains and focus on something real.

Wise move. As a former A-10 combat pilot and squadron commander, I worked with President Trump in his first term, and in Congress, to stop premature retirement of the A-10 and require the flyoff with the F-35 that proved nothing can replace it.
The A-10 training squadron just graduated its last class.
