On the occasion of Eid, while much of the Muslim world celebrates with joy, unity and togetherness, many families in Balochistan experience the day under the shadow of grief and uncertainty. For Baloch, Eid is not defined by festivity, but by absence. Mothers continue to wait for sons who have not returned, children grow up without the presence of their fathers and households remain incomplete. Enforced disappearances have left deep emotional and psychological scars, turning what should be a time of celebration into a period of quiet anguish. On this occasion of Eid, instead of celebration many affected families gather in protest—raising their voices for justice, accountability and the safe return of their loved ones. What should be a day of joy becomes a day of resistance, as they continue to demand answers and an end to enforced disappearances. For many Baloch families, Eid will only truly arrive when their missing family members return home safely.

People all over the world are celebrating Eid, but unfortunately in Balochistan, Baloch people are protesting at press clubs against the enforced disappearances of their loved ones and mourning in their homes. They say that for generations they have faced oppression, and now Baloch youth are being forcibly disappeared. That is why many Baloch gather outside press clubs instead of celebrating, demanding the safety and return of their families, including their sisters, brothers, sons, and fathers.
