@SavonAnkka @AO156 @thinkdefence Ok, but FPVs/sUAS aren't going away. Taking countermeasures/protection into consideration seems reasonable, even if not to the extremes we see nowadays in Ukraine (with mortars mostly used from camouflaged and protected dugouts)

@AO156 @thinkdefence What we see in Ukraine is an anomaly. Neither side can maneuver so the lethality of systems like FPVs is heightened.
In 2022 Ukraine mortars would reign supreme, but we have passed them.

Max range of 81mm mortar is about 5.5km, well within FPV range. Not going to extrapolate too much from a single image but should we be including lightweight drone mesh in these weight sensitive packages? Would you trade a couple of bombs for some nets and poles?

Russia’s Bureau 1440 announced the launch of the first 16 “Rassvet-3” satellites, Russia’s answer to Starlink. Reportedly, the company aims to begin commercial operations in 2027 and put ~250-300 satellites into orbit over the next couple years. (By comparison, Starlink has ~10,000 satellites in orbit.)

Fire Point also developed map-matching navigation using low-cost night cameras. FP-1 and FP-2 can navigate by terrain and elevation maps, allowing accurate strikes even under heavy EW conditions.
