I know this sounds crazy, but still, somehow, not enough people talk about Ruth & Gehrig hitting back-to-back in the same lineup for years. Like, on any given day, either one of them could be considered the greatest hitter that ever lived. The fact that they coexisted is nuts.

Btw, I do give @PeterZeihan credit for talking about axes that few were considering 10+ years ago. Those constants like shipping lanes did become variables. I mainly disagree with the sign of his conclusions, in terms of what he expects to rise and fall.

Conversely, I do give Zeihan credit for identifying interesting axes, things that people took for granted as constants that he rightly recognized to be variables. Like US willingness to guard shipping lanes, or commodity exports, or geographical chokepoints. I mainly disagree with the sign of his conclusions, not the specific axes he flags.

that's nice, anon. I'm happy for you, but I don't care. this little food fight in Iran has presented an opportunity to once again buy maybe the best consumer lender in the country, OneMain Financial, at attractive multiples
maybe you're not familiar with the beauty that is $OMF, but this is a company that had a lower peak NCO% than $AXP during the GFC while lending to a much "lower quality" consumer cohort and does a 20%+ ROE regularly
oh and they currently trade at 7x earnings and a 8% dividend yield. do with this information as you please, but I plan to keep building a position
