YXE Top Lawyer says “…we do monitor it and we have specified that type of construction in areas where we thought vibration would be important to avoid.” Which YXE property owners get the benefit of low impact and which get risk of high impact construction practices for ADUs?

@JonFlynnREstats Dad told me to buy a house slightly bigger than I wanted so that I wouldn’t have to move in a few years. Dad also told me to work as hard as possible to pay off the mortgage. Both my parents encouraged me to have a basement suite. My parents gave me good real estate advice!

@SpencerFernando I’m firmly in the 1/3 group. Got my Grade 12 and went to work in the oilfields. What are the job prospects with an undergraduate degree in a big city?

Since we're in the home stretch, it's crucial that gun owners understand this: By the government's own estimate, there is only enough funding to provide compensation for ~36,000 firearms. And there have already been 51,000 declarations.
Calibre tweet media
Calibre@Calibremag

Following up on a video posted last week: Total compensation available to ASFCP participants is slashed by $185M (conveniently) before a single claim is processed, meaning participants may receive almost half as much as expected - if anything at all. calibremag.ca/asfpc-quiet-cu…

@Tablesalt13 Why would they fear the police? Why would they fear the Canadian justice system? Worst case scenario is they get caught and claim to be victims of organized crime. Another refugee claim…

100% She’s right. And the numbers back her up. $800 million spent on the buyback. 32,000 guns collected. $25,000 per firearm. 90%+ of guns used in crimes in Ontario are smuggled from the US. The government is spending $1+ billion to disarm people who were NEVER the threat. While the actual guns killing Canadians flow across the border untouched. Every dollar spent on this buyback is a dollar NOT spent on border security, gang enforcement, and stopping illegal firearms. She gets it…but the Liberals don’t want to. THIS IS A CHOICE.
Kelly DeRidder, MP@KellyDeRidderMP

I want to be clear: I believe the Waterloo Regional Police Service is one of the greatest police foreces in the country and they do incredible work to keep our community safe without the gun buyback program. However, targeting law-abiding firearms owners - those who follow the rules, complete training, and properly register their firearms - is not the solution to rising gun crime. These individuals are not the source of the gun crime in our communities in the first place - so gun crime won't go down. If we are serious about public safety, our focus must be on criminals and illegal firearms coming in accross the U.S. border, not responsible citizens. With the vast majority of crime guns traced back to the United States, resources should be directed toward securing our borders and addressing the root causes of gun violence.

@ryangerritsen There should be an investigation into the English only message. The government should appoint a dozen retired judges to travel the country to hold public meetings so that people can share their feelings and trauma. I’m so disgusted with the priorities that our leaders choose!

CBC has nothing better to do than to promote the resignation of the Air Canada CEO. State funded media is trying to keep people distracted from Liberal incompetence. Who cares about over 150,000 fake students who were never investigated, let’s care about how a guy never spoke French.

Victims of fraud are often groomed or pressured into decisions that feel reasonable at the time. Here, @DrLisCarter explains why understanding this behaviour is vital to the @ukhomeoffice’s new Fraud Strategy, launched at Guildhall recently, and to improving protection for the public – @CityPolice will have a key role to play. This is our final video from the Guildhall launch.

An Afghan woman forced to marry the man who raped her. CNN reports. Because the rapist (right) was married, the victim was sent to prison for adultery and gave birth there. For the sake of her newborn daughter, she reluctantly agreed to the marriage. We must not allow Islamic law to be brought into Japan. - 加藤 健 @JapanLobby

@RuleofLawCanada @SAVEservicesorg I’d certainly prefer any unfairness to be against the other! I’d also acknowledge that I wouldn’t want to be in a fight against my son’s coach. She’s about a foot shorter than me and at least 100 pounds lighter. I’ve seen her train, spar and fight. An incredible athlete!

For sure but that might not be the actual reason but a justification that sounds right. Both men and women prefer to cater to women but also both would prefer that a man fight for them, physically. We choose what gives an advantage because whilst we want equality, we would prefer any unfairness to be against the other, not us.

@RuleofLawCanada @SAVEservicesorg Maybe but I recall the advice my father gave me a long time ago. He told me that when choosing a professional and all things seem equal, choose the woman. She’s worked harder to achieve her position. Sexist perhaps but likely true as well!

@DTSaskatoon @SAVEservicesorg ah, but that is an entirely different thing. that is bias on the basis of thinking that you are a lawyer. You can be damn sure if a woman dressed up there would be more people paying attention to her, than me, for instance, because I'm male and she is female. Chivalry etc.

@TWilsonOttawa They should have a decent grasp of the number of (previously) Restricted rifles - like the AR platform. They doesn’t have any idea how many (previously) Non Restricted rifles were in the public’s hands before they determined them to be Prohibited. So many bought NR rifles!

They’re lying about the numbers. There are 105,000 AR-15’s alone. Thats one of 2500 models banned. Are they suggesting all other models combined = 51,000? Ridiculous - it’s over 2,000,000
Holly Doan@hollyanndoan

.@Safety_Canada Minister @gary_srp estimates 166,000 “assault-style” firearms are subject to $742 million national buyback program. Only 51,000 have been registered with 6 days remaining before expiry of compensation deadline. blacklocks.ca/six-days-to-fi… #cdnpoli

@PrairieVeteran The government will establish an inquiry to determine how this happened. Not the tragic accident of course but the lack of French in the short update from the CEO of @AirCanada. He also forgot to start with a land acknowledgment.

@RuleofLawCanada @SAVEservicesorg I don’t agree! All things being equal, it’s easier for male, especially a white male, to navigate the justice system. If I walk into a courthouse wearing a suit, I’m often mistaken for a lawyer without even saying a word.

What an absolutely ridiculous situation. The fact that there has been so much time and energy spent on this case is unreal. Canada has two official languages - English and French. Expecting services in any other language is not a "human right". ctvnews.ca/saskatoon/arti…

This Jamaican agriculture worker's permit ran out in 2023. Even so, he remained in Canada for >2 more years, using every procedure he could to stay. All failed. Deportation was supposed to be March 6, 2026. Great example of how this country doesn't take overstayers seriously.
