Special needs teacher Sophie Cole, 32, from Cork has been told she will never work again after a classroom attack by a pupil.

She was diagnosed with Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS), one of the most painful conditions known and often called the ‘suicide disease’.
Doctors say there is no cure, the pain will likely be permanent, and she is now permanently unfit for work.

Sophie is currently pregnant with her first child and relies on invalidity payments.
