This should be a much bigger story: Pete Hegseth is lying about what the families of fallen American soldiers are saying about this illegal war. It’s disturbing how easily these people lie, and how rarely the media holds them accountable.

This @DHSgov shutdown situation is absolutely indefensible. Democrats abandoned a bipartisan, bicameral FY26 bill that they themselves helped negotiate. They continue to refuse to engage in good-faith discussions to find a path forward – despite the fact that this impasse is of their own making. This is not the moment to undermine the very agency and personnel responsible for protecting the homeland and the American people. If the roles were reversed, Democrats would be outraged. Yet nearly 50 days have passed without Senate Democrats agreeing to sit down with Senate Republicans to work toward a solution. If they were truly committed to reforming ICE, they’d be eager to come to the table and pass a bill. Instead, they are engaging in stale performative politics rather than serious governance. This is not leadership, or public service. It is a failure to meet the responsibilities of governing. It needs to stop. The safety and security of the American people must come first.

366 TSA officers have left the force due to the Democrat shutdown. This is the price AMERICAN workers are paying while Democrats fight for illegal aliens. Enough is enough. End the shutdown, fully fund DHS, and pay our TSA workers.

The Democrats’ decision to shut down the Department of Homeland Security has caused chaos at our airports, delayed assistance to communities affected by disasters, and forced thousands of frontline employees to work without any guarantee of when they will be paid. The United States is less safe because the Democrats chose to walk away from the bipartisan DHS funding bill and have blocked repeated Republican efforts to pass a short-term funding patch to prevent disruptions while negotiations continue. The White House made a good-faith offer last month that builds on the reforms included in the bipartisan funding bill negotiated earlier this year, with new safeguards to protect both the American public and law enforcement and increased oversight. Democrats waited 18 days to respond. In that time, we saw violent attacks at Old Dominion University and the Temple Israel Synagogue in Michigan and a massive cyber attack on the Stryker Corporation. It is time for Democrats to get serious and work with us in earnest to govern responsibly.

Dems aren't serious about coming to the table to fund DHS. This isn’t a buffet where they can pick & choose what subagencies get funded. @DHSgov works as one system to protect Americans. Border security, disaster response, national security, cybersecurity, & all go hand in hand.
