They apartheid military was training together with them. They were developing weapons and surveillance systems and testing all sorts of biomedical and other horrific things on the oppressed people in South Africa and the Occupied Palestinian Territories. The apartheid regime of South Africa was genocidal in its ideation and execution and they too were building up to do to South Africa what they’re doing to the Palestinians. They literally were (are) best friends. If you study the UN resolutions of those times, it’s common to find a mention of the need for resistance movements in South Africa and Palestine. The fight for liberation, even in how it’s captured in those UN documents have a strand that always connects us.

I see the mischief maker in chief is up to his usual disinformation tactics on the price of FMD vaccines. He takes the unit price but then "conveniently" excludes the freight, delivery, taxes, clearing, and distribution charges that any importer would have to pay. Government is sourcing vaccines at the best available price and is paying for and distributing them in line with our strategy. Fake news does not assist in combatting a disease outbreak, don't get your news from fraudsters!

PRESIDENT RAMAPHOSA CALLS FOR DIALOGUE IN THE MIDDLE EAST AND CONDENMS INTERNATIONAL LAW VIOLATIONS President @CyrilRamaphosa and the Government of the Republic of South Africa expresses deep concern regarding the escalation of tensions in the Middle East. These developments pose a serious threat to regional and international peace and security, with far-reaching humanitarian, diplomatic and economic consequences. President Ramaphosa calls on all parties to exercise maximum restraint and to act in a manner consistent with international iaw, international humanitarian law and the principles of the United Nations Charter. Article 51 of the UN Charter provides for self-defence only when a state has been subjected to an armed invasion. Anticipatory self-defence is not permitted under international law and self-defence cannot be based on assumption or anticipation. Experience has repeatedly demonstrated that there can be no military solution to fundamentally political problems that can and should be resolved diplomatically. Military confrontation has never delivered sustainable peace, nor has it addressed the legitimate grievances that underlie conflict. Long-term peace and stability can only be achieved through inclusive dialogue and a genuine commitment to justice and coexistence. President Ramaphosa therefore, reiterates his call for intensified diplomatic efforts to de-escalate tensions and create space for continued meaningful negotiations. "We urge the international community, including multilateral institutions and regional partners, to redouble efforts aimed at promoting mediation and peaceful resolution. As a nation that has emerged from conflict through dialogue and reconciliation, South Africa remains steadfast in its belief that peace is not only possible, but imperative for the shared future of the Middle East and the world", said President Ramaphosa. ❗️❗️Lex Libertas & New York Young Republican Club (NYYRC) Joint Media Statement FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – 27 FEBRUARY 2026 Lex Libertas and NYYRC Announce International Action Plan Following South Africa Visit Centurion, South Africa – Following an intensive week of engagements in South Africa, Lex Libertas and the New York Young Republican Club (NYYRC) today announced a coordinated international action plan aimed at bringing South Africa’s crisis to the attention of the United States government and the broader Western world. While in South Africa, the NYYRC delegation met with victims of farm attacks, persons excluded by racially discriminatory legislation, business leaders, and community institutions. These engagements have informed a structured programme of follow-up action to be implemented in the United States. The first component is the launch of an international petition calling on the United States to appoint a special envoy dedicated to engaging with the Afrikaner community and other cultural minorities in South Africa, and to recognise the pursuit of self-governance as a legitimate and peaceful solution. The goal is to secure at least 100,000 signatories before formally submitting the petition to the President of the United States, the U.S. State Department, and the White House. Secondly, Lex Libertas and the NYYRC intend to host a public vigil in Washington, D.C., where 3,000 white crosses will be displayed on the National Mall to commemorate victims of farm attacks. Following this event, the petition will be formally handed over to the U.S. administration. Thirdly, Lex Libertas plans to host a conference in Washington, D.C., where victims of farm attacks, racial exclusion, and state failure in South Africa will share their testimonies directly with American audiences and policymakers. In addition, a formal request will be submitted to the U.S. Congress to convene a public hearing on South Africa and structural policy solutions. Stefano Forte, President of the NYYRC, said: “We came to South Africa on a fact-finding mission to see the reality for ourselves, not rely on media propaganda. We have found that Afrikaners and other ethnic minorities are facing serious insecurity and growing hostility with little protection from their own government. These are a people with deep civilizational ties to the West, and their situation demands the attention of the American government. We have pulled back the curtain — now Washington must pay attention.” Dr Ernst Roets, Executive Director of Lex Libertas, said: “What the NYYRC has observed in South Africa is not new. It has been an ongoing and worsening crisis for several decades. It is an ongoing, worsening crisis that has been deliberately ignored and denied by a detached political elite. While ordinary people face violent crime, racial discrimination, and state collapse, those in power protect their positions and protect a failing system. If those in power will not confront this crisis, then the people will — and we will take that message to the world.” To make these initiatives possible, Lex Libertas and the NYYRC have launched a fundraising campaign with a target of $50,000. Supporters can sponsor one of the 3,000 white crosses for $15 per cross. The organisations encourage supporters to sign the petition and contribute financially to help bring this campaign to Washington in the Fall of 2026.

Four separate applications to the High Court were made to interdict this land auction this week. All 4 were dismissed, with costs. Today the auction went ahead. Hundreds of millions were raised, all of which will be spent on essential infrastructure in Cape Town, much of it in lower income communities. Many new homes will be built on that land, providing much needed new housing supply and easing prices. The attempts to stop this are all political of course (including, sadly, the SAHRC) - we do these land auctions often, they’ve never tried to stop them before. But we’re in silly season now, so we expect much silliness. But there is a more important point at play here. Their opposition is rooted in a refusal to accept that we have a different understanding to them of the proper job of government. In their view, everything must be owned by the state. Every failing state company, every derelict building, every fallow asset - it must stay just that way forever, and none of it can be sold, no matter how derelict, loss-making or under-utilised it is. In our view, the proper role of the government is not to own everything. It is to stop standing in the way of investment and growth, and to help unlock it. By freeing up under-utilised land, we allow these dead assets to be brought to life - with new housing supply, new investment, and new jobs. That in turn helps spur other investment, and so the economy grows, and delivers more people out of poverty. Cape Town is not run by the ANC. We have a mandate to do things differently here. We do not subscribe to the ANC’s view of the state as the solver of every problem. How has that worked in reality? The DA sees the state as a facilitator of a growing economy that lifts more people out of poverty and into work. That is the only way we will build a successful, working South Africa. Beware of those claiming to speak for the poor, but wanting to keep people poor and keep everything in the hands of the state.
