@ChrisCuomo SPLC funds the white nationalist hate groups bro. Seems to me that you lot are determined to have as many of them in the country as possible.

@varien They are already extinct. People between the ages of 0-34 make up 35% of Germany. A big portion of it is immigrants. No amount of baby boom can save native Germans and their culture from extinction.

I have no problem with lesbians who aren’t into trans women. People have preferences; it’s fine, not necessarily indicative of a political stance that’s anti-trans in any way. Live and let live. But bisexuals who don’t like trans people…something’s going on there

This post is an excellent litmus test for understanding of just war theory. Despite the fact that I can see how effective this would be, I must oppose it because the damage it would do to my enemy (who bashes in my mailbox) would far outweigh the good of saving my mailbox. Its disproportionality is opposed by our duty in charity (and even justice) to watch out even for the good of our enemies. (Yes, by the way, I have had my mailbox bashed in by random vandals.)

@JAvermie @RealRuskin @poorlemming @DolioJ In the long term the machine will handle the production of most goods, it will not be motivated by self interest or profit. Certain few jobs will still require humans to do. These humans will be rewarded with access to on of the few scarce resources left, like prime real estate.

@RealRuskin @Russellflagg19 @poorlemming @DolioJ Why would people who have the money to create factories and manufacture shit care about what you want and need? The base case is they don't do anything. You need to explain why would they build shit for you. You "wanting" is not a reason for them.

Listen carefully.... If everyone will be able to afford private chefs and maids, WHO WILL BE THE PRIVATE CHEFS AND MAIDS? The false promise falls apart right there.
The Iced Coffee Hour@TheICHpodcast

Jason Oppenheim reveals EVERYONE will be able to afford private chefs, maids, the best healthcare in 10 years due to AI👀 “Everyone within 10 to 15 years will have a Michelin star chef, a maid, babysitter, a dentist, and the best physician in the world”

@JAvermie @RealRuskin @poorlemming @DolioJ Artificial super intelligence and automation will cause the gdp to grow by orders of magnitude in the medium to long term. Your thinking way too small, there will be plenty of money to go around.

@RealRuskin @poorlemming @DolioJ Poor people have cellphones because someone else is working. His earning are taken away in form of taxes and handed out to others. When nobody has a job, where does the money come from?

You can't fund UBI through taxing AI The math does not add up You need greater input than output for the system to function and taxing AI to give UBI generates massive output with insufficient input. The cost of the system will be greater than the revenue dispersed creating a negative feedback loop and economic regression The argument then becomes that UBI will only be supplemental but you still run into the inflation problem again. When given a choice between working 40 hours a week and receiving 10K UBI and 15K wages many people would choose unlimited free time and 10k In order to then hire someone for jobs we cannot automate you have to then increase pay for those jobs thus the cost of the good increases and the 10k supplemental now is largely useless for most goods and services I break the question down like this How many people do you know play guitar? Most say quite a few How many would choose to be a musician professionally if they had the choice? Most say in fact quite a few How many have the talent to actually make it? none if any And that still assumes most people would choose to pursue a passion with some economic benefit The reality is that many people would choose UBI and 40 hours of some creative work that ultimately provides no functional value to society and that generates no revenue. We effectively use tech to subsidize net negative output from people That system is bound to implode The most important thing to understand is that there are core necessities such as housing and healthcare that cannot be meaningfully automated. UBI is a pipe dream that can't even exist in a society with replicators from Star Trek. Land is still owned or leased and money is the means of distribution. If you want to argue for government control of property then youre just arguing for techno-communism

My son told my wife today that he doesn’t love me because I don’t spend as much time with him as she does. I’m the sole income earner in our family of four and try to never work between 5pm and his bed time, and walk him to school every morning. What’s even the point of working this hard if your kids don’t even like you.

I’m not about to do what he did but keep all that “memorial” crap in the graveyard. It looks trashy, I don’t need OR WANT to know someone had a tragedy on that spot, why in the blue fuck would you want to remember the exact spot your loved one died, and it’s most likely NOT YOUR PROPERTY so you don’t have a right to pile trash on it. If it IS your property, put up a fence and no trespassing signs… problem solved.

Nails it UBI does not work
Max@minordissent

UBI advocacy stems from the naïveté and solipsism that because *I* am a deeply creative latent producer who is oppressed by my wagee job and would actualize my creative potential if only i could have my basic needs met, this must be true for everyone. Its not. First of all, it’s not even true for these “creatives”. If you aren’t creation maxxing while waging, you wont do it under luxury communism either. Creative work is extremely taxxing and your wage job isn’t actually that hard. The problem is your neuroticism and lack of discipline, not your job. All your necessities being provided for will only make you weaker and gayer such that you’ll make up some new bullshit to get overwhelmed by and then cope by playing video games all day. But worse because you won’t even have “at least i did *something* productive today”, which will magnify your depression. Second, luxury communism already exists for the bottom 20% of the population. All their food, housing, etc is completely covered by the state. Entire generations of people who haven’t worked a job in their lives. Do they go on to produce beautiful art and build companies? Or do they go on to get high and kill each other? The truth is that we are close enough to UBI today that most of the people who will ever become great artists and inventors are already going to do it, and as we get closer all that will happen is the people incapable of anything more than wage slavery (most people) will simply become dysfunctional parasites.
