I’m going to work off some temporal punishment due to my sins by spending the next several hours doing manual labor inside the monastery for the nuns. Penance+Charity+Reparation. Give yourself as a gift to the Church or to others. 🙏❤️

Minimum wage was $5 then. Rent was $700, but we split it 3 ways with roommates. We didn’t have food delivery subscriptions because we knew how to shop and cook. We didn’t have internet and 6 streaming services, because we had patience and VHS. We didn’t waste a shit ton on overpriced coffee. Millennials and younger waste so much money on convenience and expedience fees that they can’t afford the important stuff, like a place to live.

As a Gen Xer, I can tell you boomers and even my own generation comparing their 20s to today’s 20-30 year-olds needs to stop. I paid $600 for a West Hollywood apartment at 23. Today it’s $3500. Burgers weren’t $20, they were $6 to $8 in a nice restaurant. Life is not comparable. It’s a completely different world now.

@WonkaMaga @sixfootcandy It’s not the same. You weren’t being priced out of the housing market and then forced to pay outrageous rent. It’s government’s fault. But don’t pretend like this is normal. It’s not.

This is sad. I know as a politician these companies are going to spend a billion dollars against me for saying it but 🤷🏽‍♀️ Pervasive gambling is not good for society. It turns life into a casino, traps people in addiction & debt, surges domestic violence, and fosters manipulation.
