@TeslaClubIN My only concern is water proofing for such concepts and what if their is water choke up on that street?
Not big fan of this design, putting up small iron stands to put up charger 5-6 feet above ground level is always a saner option.

@JayPrashanth What is the difference between everyday and default modes?

11,000 kms done in about 3 months on the Mahindra BE6 Pack2 79 kWh. The car will be sent for second (10k) service tomorrow.
No niggles as such but fast charging at above 120 kW on hot days causes the car to go into Reduced Performance mode.
This mode reduces acceleration but triple digit speeds still possible.
On a recent Bangalore-Chennai-Bangalore trip, the car was charged at about 150 kW at a ChargeZone fast charger attached to a Cafe Coffee Day outlet near Vellore. It threw up the reduced performance message on the cluster when the throttle pedal was floored. So, acceleration reduces but the car still manages to do 100-140. I think this is a battery protection feature.
Workaround 1: Use the touchscreen to choose charging speed. There are 3 speeds to choose from: low, mid and high. Choose mid so that charging speeds are limited to 120 kW, thereby limiting the chance of the car going into Reduced Performance mode.
Workaround 2: Stop for 10-15 minutes and let the car cool down. This brings it out of reduced performance mode.
This is the second time this was observed. It happened in the first month of ownership, after fast charging at 180 kW at a Charge-In station near Chittoor AP. Should observe how it goes in cooler months.
Apart from this, the BE6 has been more or less niggle free. It's fast and fun. A head turner. Real world range is about 450 Kms when driven normally (no babying or hypermiling tactics used). Everyday mode mostly. AC always on. Between 20-22 degrees. Loud music always playing.
It also has a fantastic audio. Good for a nuclear family. Though it's not a low slung car like a sedan or a premium hatchback, getting in and out for elders is a challenge. Parking in tight spaces and driving on congested roads without a 360 camera means spatial awareness has to be extra high. Many may find this stressful. Such people must buy the trim with the 360 camera. Won't recommend aftermarket/retrofitment because it may lead to warranty issues. It's the last thing one should risk on an EV, as aftermarket support and repair is poor/non existent.

@josephradhik Which would be your choice of bmw? Your choice of ev sedan?
English

Good car, not a good BMW.
Somnath Chatterjee@SomChaterji
X1 LWB is popular for a reason, you see so many of them on road. 350km plus for the car and for a BMW, ride quality is superb. It's not like the old imported iX1 but much better even if it's not the sharp BMW that we know. This one focussed on comfort.

@simplysajet @tushv24 @mahindraesuvs @anandmahindra Do you feel any drive difference in everyday vs default especially with steering and power?
English

@adiag91 @tushv24 It's fantastic to use. Feels like magic that I can change the suspension and steering feedback on-the-fly!

Although I was never a huge supporter of EVs 🚗⚡️ Mainly because I never liked the driving feel compared to ⛽️ cars… I have to admit now: EVs are going to be a massive part of the future of automobiles In fact, in India, EVs are probably the only automobile technology that looks stable for the next 10 years

@narayananh Thats one part done for bone density only.
Whole body with body composition is 10K
English

@throttleandtech Lfp; To 100 once in a week or once in two weeks. Occasional mini top ups to 70 or 80
English

@simplysajet @tushv24 I got the pack two above. Way less bounce so that’s sorted too. For yours custom mode now gives the option to mix match suspension, race and steering as per liking. Have you tied that?

@volklub @Xroaders_001 @naklibritisher Paaji dealership level aggression is missing in Tata; baki lifestyle/road presence krke jyade vikdian ne saade paase
Eesti

@naklibritisher Both brands have diff strategies.
Mahindra is kinda more of a lifestyle brand now whereas Tata is playing as a proper passenger segment player. Tata eventually will easily gain more market share in a budget market like India but yes, sometimes they are slightly not proactive.
English

There’s a very visible product–brand gap between Tata and Mahindra right now.
A new Mahindra launches in the morning, and by noon you’ll spot it on the road.
New Tatas seem to take weeks to show up in meaningful numbers. I still haven’t seen many Sierras around.
Feels like people trust Mahindra more when it comes to putting their money down.
What do you think, @volklub?
English

@tushv24 💯 For the first time i felt that an EV is genuine competition to its own ICE variant and other similar priced ICE cars.
English

@adiag91 Ya, most value for money car in India at the moment 👌🏻👌🏻
English

@DealsDhamaka They are easier to drive, have more punch than a similarly priced ICE counterpart. Personally i like the drive. They are only gonna get better from here on out.
English

I have to admit now:

English

@ChugleeKhor @AmitWorldPeace Sadly that’s true for city as well.
English

@adiag91 @AmitWorldPeace I was not talking about Eange anxiety. Many mechanics cannot operate on EV so in case of breakdown in remote areas will be an issue.
English

EV ANXIETY ISN'T JUST ABOUT RANGE. IT'S ABOUT SUPPORT. 💔
Stranded for 5+ hours.
Multiple calls.
Multiple complaints.
Still no roadside assistance.
People spend lakhs on EVs expecting peace of mind, not uncertainty.
#Mahindra #MahindraElectric #EV #RoadsideAssistance #CustomerService #India
English

@AmitWorldPeace @Xroaders_001 They can do that at public places or mandate them at commercial establishments. But people using high kW portable chargers will do real damage with home charging if thats their default option.
English

@adiag91 @Xroaders_001 3 kW is too slow. As for earthing, wiring, and load-related issues, the respective state governments need to prioritize addressing them. 👍⚡
English

⚡ PORTABLE CHARGERS SHOULD BE STANDARD WITH EVERY EV SOLD IN INDIA.
1️⃣ A 7.2 kW portable charger can add ~12% battery per hour
2️⃣ Portable chargers cost roughly ₹19,000–23,000
3️⃣ Auto companies should offer them with every EV
4️⃣ The government should accelerate adoption by installing 32A industrial sockets at hotels, dhabas, tourist spots and public parking areas
A simple socket can sometimes be more useful than an expensive charger. 🚗⚡🇮🇳

English

@ChugleeKhor @AmitWorldPeace Been using an EV on highways. Just takes a bit of planning - never had an issue. Cases like above are isolated ones and are not related to range or charging
English

@AmitWorldPeace EVs are yet only for city driving. Not for long drives. But very good for city driving.
English

@AmitWorldPeace All OEMs provide free 3kw portable ones already. Problem with 7kw is that the onus of appropriate earthing, wiring, load lies with the customer then. 3kw is almost ok to plug anywhere a good power plug is available
@Xroaders_001
English

@adiag91 A portable charger should be a mandatory accessory with an EV car.
English

@Xroaders_001 Hycross si sirji. Vadiya ho gya ayi ni
Definitely the EV is superior. Bas third row better si hycross di
