sad tonight because i took my whoop off to go through security at the airport and completely forgot to pick it back up from the tray. realised only was i was already on the plane about to take off and i got the notification on my phone

In Portugal you pay up to €7.50 when you buy a laptop called a "copyright levy"
You pay €4/TB of storage in the computer, so for a MacBook Neo 13" with 512GB that's €2.05
It's regulation made in 1998 to compensate artists for you illegally sharing MP3 files which nowadays of course doesn't make sense anymore since we have Spotify and YouTube
Much of the money doesn't even arrive with artists btw, 30% is taken by the organization collecting the tax and lot of it remains unclaimed and some of that goes again to the organization collecting the tax as "operational costs"

When I set up a new Hetzner VPS first thing I do install Tailscale and once I'm in via Tailscale lock down the firewall to only accept web traffic on HTTPS 443 for Cloudflare IPs and SSH 22 for Tailscale IP
That way nobody can get in
I know I keep repeating this but it should be basics of setting up a new VPS
So basic IMHO it should be part of any VPS service to default install Tailscale and enable it so it's the only way to get in
Why?
A VPS server is just like your laptop or destop computer but now imagine if it's connected to the entire internet with 8 billion people that can access it and try hack it
You want to only have it accessible to you
And if you want to host a website on your VPS (like I do), you should only let Cloudflare access your VPS so it can stand in front and block any hack attempts
Never expose a VPS to the world wide web which realistically is the world WILD web

@levelsio @nfcodes I created a redis instance on hetzner with public port open for few minutes and someone was running a cryptominer the next moment taking 50% CPU 💀 After that I always use @Tailscale 👌

I am an example as well who got tricked into the sub you cannot cancel without a penalty. I will NEVER buy or recommend Adobe again

In all my years of owning German cars I had no idea until today this was a thing. Apparently all German cars have a setting that will dimly illuminate the tail and front driving light to give the car visibility while parked. In my car, key out, car off, just use the left or right turn stalk to illuminate that side of the car. Neat! 📸

A colleague got held up by airport security once. The guy was looking curiously at his lock picking set, which he assured him is just for hobby purposes. Presenting a Polish ID after being asked surely didn't help him beat the allegations.
