250 players tried out my #vibejam game yesterday, and the server didn't explode! Thank you so much to everyone that hopped in for some dogfighting. Today I pushed some updates: - ship upgrades available at the landing pad near the map center. - you can see other people's lasers now, and bots and salvage share space with all users. Team up and hunt hostiles instead of killing each other if you want - the browser grabs the cursor now (what a difference this makes in gameplay! - hit escape to adjust sensitivity) - added the vibejam portal but you have to find it o7 commanders nullrange.com

Day 4 of #vibejam is complete! and we finally got basic multiplayer car race combat. You can now play vs your mates! Honestly Day 4 was tough spent most of my time breaking the task down between claude and codex. Codex was doing a lot of complex heavy lifting around client synchronization during gameplay and claude helped getting the menu and working accordingly, setting up the lobby map and as well as the HUD elements. checkout playtempo.uk to have a play disclaimer THERE WILL be bugs!!! Help me help you by telling me Day 5 of the jam will be spent on a polish replan... Im not happy with a lot of things 😤... The menu needs a major polish parse. The track generation can get a bit janky need to smooth shit out. We need a way better HUD and game UI. Player names. More weapons and of course more music and a better way of displaying them throughout the game. I might also decide to improve the visualization and car handling as well swap out the car meshes for something more "electric" as well as other in game meshes, maybe include an AI bot racing mode and also support portals in a creative and unique way. All in all we are in the 10% but now thats like 90% of the work.

@levelsio @cursor_ai @boltdotnew Very late to the #vibejam but guess this is day 1. Building a warped hover racer Day 1: Scaffolded the project got basic movement and a basic track built... Day 2: Gets intresting will doing some audio analysis as the track is supposed to generated well music hope it works.

#vibejam update. MechBrawl is submitted! I wanted to knock this out so I can make other games and post some videos on how to make your own. MechBrawl is waaay better than it was. It's now 1st person, increased server tick rate, changed damage to show like how Mechwarrior does it. Added a heat management system. Fixed a bunch of bugs. Added the vibejam portals so you can go to other games. Added text chat and kill feed. It's fun. Come play a few games. mechbrawl.gg servers are region-based so lower latency hopefully.

I have been using @threejs and @spacetime_db to build a project I always wanted to bring to life, which is basically a sandbox FPS shooter. So far it's been a super experience. Instead of going with major engines, I wanted a custom made voxel engine that just fits the bill!

So I had a little accident involving a glass of water, a cat, and a Macbook So no video today💀 Building a roomba fighting game with 0 game dev experience. Day 12 of #vibejam Built a simple dev console so I could toggle invisible objects and walls The house finally has proper walls and ceilings Added some nice fences to the garden Added some more lighting and shadows so looks better alrdy. Hope my Macbook survives otherwise tomorrow I have to setup my Windows game pc for dev, please. god. no🤣🤣🤣 Screenshot from mobile

@idlemilo Thanks 😃 Yeah, map is coming. The map is procedural generated so the minimap will have to be too, its not too hard to do it tho. I have a bunch of plays but need to have more concurrent. Its not as fun as some others, but I'm currently making it nicer. Thanks for playing!

Day ?? of #vibejam for my exploration/trading game - Improvements to the UI (still more to do) - Added Tavern where NPCs hang out, and you can too - More weapons and equipment with stats - Fire/frost effects on some weapons - Added Grafana and Prometheus (took like 2 mins with my deploy stack) to observe the game server and try to optimize more stuff in there - Made the health and damage also use those stats of the weapons in combat - Fixed a bunch of bugs There's a bunch of stuff I want to work on next: - Make a beginners guide - World events (meteor showers and strikes, ) - Fix storms and other rare weather conditions - Improve UI further - Make all the buildings possible to enter - Add more sounds - Add tavern music and maybe something fun to hang around in there - Improve general graphics effects/quality with post processing - Make it funner to play - Caravan improvements - Get more people to play the game (it seems like a bunch of people have tried the game but its always empty right now) - Add some more life into the game artificially too, to make it more dynamic - Add more depth and activities to do in the game, currently its possible to trade, gather, kill enemies, etc, but there's not enough depth of progression in place yet - Guilds and bonus for playing with friends/inviting friends - World map / improve navigation around the map - Player housing I guess I have a lot to do 😅

The house is starting to come together finally. Also added a garden🏡 Building a roomba fighting game with 0 game dev experience. Day 11 of #vibejam Added more music🎶 Added furniture and other obstacles Made the house way bigger to support more players👯 Improved the ramp physics📐🏎️ Core gameplay finally works: collect dirt and fight other roombas I thought about switching from WebGL to WebGPU because I see all these amazingly beautiful games and was getting FOMO But the refactor would take too long I think and I don't want to risk not making the deadline So I'll just stick with what I have and ship Now the fun part begins: weapons, dyson, shields, speed boosts, maybe some easter eggs👀 Cya tomorrow!!
