@acranberg @michaeljburry You should read the J Doe series maybe before dismissing this all as conspiracy. He discusses Canada at length (and touches on Keystone). I’m no energy expert, but found the detailed analysis rather interesting.

It is a compelling conspiracy theory that is refiners big bet on heavy oil compelled the us to grab the Venezuelan oil industry. There’s just one teeny problem with that theory: the facts. It’s true that Vx heavy oil exports are down by about 700,000 B/D (though the US could easily allow Chevron to produce more). But meanwhile Canadian heavy oil exports have skyrocketed to 3 mmbbl/day and the Keystone pipeline allows low cost access to the Gulf Coast to over 800,000 b/d. This already nicely offsets any Vz loss.

This is a terrific, tragic history of the Venezuelan oil saga, with US involvement. Puts the events of this weekend into an honest, informed perspective that will wow your friends and family. This is free, not mine, and I don't know the author, but it is really good, very helpful. Venezuelan Historical Primer: Friend, Foe, Vassal open.substack.com/pub/endtropy/p…

@csFraudAnalysis I wrote it because we assumed it was Wirecard operatives and we’d busted them. Never been able to identify them. Yes, I knew about Novichok then, but we had no idea of the extent of Marsalek’s 🇷🇺

#wirecard why did @murphyp write this story in February 2019? Have the people on the fotos been identified? Are they related to Orlin Roussev? ft.com/content/7300ac… "Former Alphavillain Sam Jones was wandering back over Southwark Bridge the other day when he noticed this chap and his female partner..." Paul Murphy, Dan McCrum, Sam Jones have all been Alphavillains? And paul (at that time) already knew about the Nowichok files. And probably Dan McCrum did know that too. And why did they even republish that story later? " We thought we’d re-up this piece from earlier this year today, for no particular reason. Enjoy. ---- Former Alphavillain Sam Jones was wandering back over Southwark Bridge the other day when he noticed this chap and his female partner..." Can anyone explain that? British humour? But have this people ("east european accent") been real?

the financial Times is believed to have published misleading Statements in the wirecard case in at least two articles according to witness Statements in the munich court. so it is not too surprising to read misleading Statements here as well. it seems to be a kind of Routine!

Libya is far different from Syria in a certain context. Syrians won’t regret the rule of cowardly Bashar and his regime, they will regret choosing a greater evil than that which governed them. Such is the tragedy of Syria.

@murphyp @Telegraph @haylesdixon Mr Murphy, speak out the truth about how this Nowichok thing appeared. What do you mean if you say "Marsalek was a source of information for us" in 2018 (!) Who is "us"? #wirecard This is entertaining gossip that is covering the truth #wirecard You are part of a scandal.

🇷🇺 When Jan Marsalek boarded a plane to Minsk, he left behind a £1.59bn black hole in his company’s finances and set the opening scenes of one of Germany’s biggest financial scandals. He is now one of Europe’s most wanted men. Read about him here ⬇️ telegraph.co.uk/news/2025/03/0…

I still have this nagging suspicion, given what we now know, that the German government (and Western intelligence agencies) KNEW Wirecard was a fraud, but were monitoring it to see where some of the money was going. Short-sellers and journalists were getting in the way. @FD

Amazing read from Politico's @MKarnitschnig on how Wirecard's Marsalek infiltrated the Austrian secret service, the BVT - based on new info seen by Matt. Some great factoids even the closest watchers of the story will probably be unaware of. politico.eu/article/vladim…

@izakaminska @jamesmontgomery The name was suggested by a former hedge fund corr at the FT (Stephen..?..American…joined a short fund.) he’d used it for an earlier proposal, which had been declined by the top brass.
